Well, you all managed to slashdot the PocketNES server already, but luckily a nice friend of mine donated some bandwidth for a mirror at http://pocketnes.fuckingpimp.com (no it's not a joke despite the domain name;)
Also, apologies for the somewhat theoretical FAQ entry (this one) that seem to have got you so upset. You can indeed fit 1000 25k NES roms on a 256 mbit flash card, but there probably are less than 200 25k roms, so yes, it's all theoretical. In practice, if you stick to old school games you should be able to fit 400-500 games though, so not too shabby. Of course if you prefer on the newest and biggest games that value will go way down, maybe around 30 games, as the FAQ also implies.
I want a tablet PC simply to "passively" consume information. No need for fast/complex input.
To watch videos, listen to music, look at pictures, read comics/manga, read texts, surf the net.
The wireless lan would be perfect to simple phone home to my stationary PC fuctioning as a large server for the information i want, or fill the tablet PC hard drive up if I am going out of range of the wireless.
A tablet PC would be perfect to combine the versatility of a PC with basically the portability of a book (I want mine slightly smaller than most tablet pcs i seen), but a book with images and video too, unlike the very limited ebook readers out on the market now.
More technical details about this mod can be found at www.portablemonopoly.NET. This includes some of the photos of the frontlit GBA screen that was previously up at www.portablemonopoly.COM.
To me, the screen looks eerily washed out (though this is always conviniently blamed on photographic technicalities, I'll believe it when i see it). Also, a slight portion of the right side of the screen is cut off to make room for the lightning strip. About 10 pixels or so are missing, which to me would be quite annoying, particularly with side scrollers.
It's also amazing to me that Adam (the portablemonopoly.com guy) is even TRYING to patent this... he is simply using a pre-existing lighting system developed for PDAs. A light guide sheet of plastic over the reflective screen guides a side light to light down at the screen.
Also, FYI, the www.portablemonopoly.net site is actually a rip off of a IGN Pocket Boards attempt at creating their own frontlight without having to wait for Adam to get his out.
IGN Pocket Boards is also where Adam's project got started. It was pretty much a group effort documented by Adam on his site till he decided to patent and cash in and took basically all the technical info off the site.
The logos don't really bother me much cause theyre good for identifying the channel, really.
what DOES bug me however is how they REMOVE the logos when theyre running commercials. More respect for the commercials than for the "supposed art".
I'm not sure how it is elsewhere but that's how it is here in Sweden for all channels except MTV, who just simplify the logo for the ads but don't remove it completely (most of the time they have a huge glaring colorful blinking logo cause of some "theme" or other).
Lik-sang had gutted Gamecube long ago

Hong Kong game store Lik-Sang had pics of a dissasembled gamecube quite a while ago,
Sep 12 to be exact.
They have a bunch of other interesting news, such as the portable screen making the gamecube if not exactly portable, at least luggable.
Erm if you look at the bottom on the zeitgeist page there is actually a "Zeitgeist Explained... " cut n pasted from webster, stating plainly "Date: 1884", so the use of that word isn't really part of the zeitgeist (excuse the horrible pun)

They do need to work on that battery life though.

There is a NES emulator for Gameboy Advance.
You can use it on the real hardware with a flash card.
Works pretty damn good too!
Not to rain on the google parade or anything but altavista had this feature years ago.
