The BBC only reports hard hitting news like this

Though I don't necessarily agree with you at all, it has to be said: good catch :)

WRT this: If someone 0wned the Windows Update server and used it for a DoS attack on other servers, would that be called an MS-DoS attack?

I think I understand their plan now:

    1. Plant studip spamware on a gazillion computers worldwide

    2. Head for a small island state somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and start blackmailing governments the world over by claiming to "0wn j00r 1nt4rw3b!". A gazillion children addicted to warez, pr0n and AIM complain to their respective parents, who demand action from their governments. Governments pay up.

    3. Profit!

Then again, governments do have armies with guns and ships and stuff so things might get messy in the process. *shrug*

So, how long until NVIDIA or whoever releases a GeForce XYZ PDA Power Ultra v4 graphics cards to power the soon-to-be-announced QuakePDA 4? Sweet.. :p

Exactly. People might conceivably be willing to try this, but does anyone actually think pr0n sites and the like will turn their particular skin (or whatever it is they want to call it) off after the user leaves said site?

I would think anyone with half a clue would turn it off as soon as the "degree of intrusion" became annoying enough repeatedly. If they are actually given the coice, that is.

This does not seem like an idea with much of a future IMHO. But, then again, there are people out there who actually reply to spam :p
