  1. Let me get this straight... on First Mac OS X Virus? · · Score: 3, Insightful

    If I write:

    #include
    main()
    {
            (void) printf("Hello World\n");
            return (0);
    }

    and also included a couple lines to 'rm -rf /User/Home'....

    Then I e-mailed or IM'd a person the executable, then asked them to decompress it, double-click on it, and laugh, that would be Mac OS X's first virus/trojan? Ohh wait, I need to associate a pretty icon to it too.....

    As much as this author would like to claim they are the first, I think the programmers at Apple were the first ones to do this with their "Disk Utility" that a user has to click on to 'newfs' or your Windows users 'format' your hard drive.

    I can not believe this made Slashdot....

    It worked on me...

    My wife keeps stealing my iPod Mini (4GB) when she goes to the gym, so I said I was going to buy her one.

    She said she would be happy with the iPod Shuffle at $99, I told her we would get least the $149 1GB version.

    Now with this announcement, I will just go ahead and get her a iPod Mini (4GB) @ $199, since she loves mine so much.

    So, Apple got another $100 out us! :)

    I think Apple is doing a lot of things right lately and I'm about to jump into the Mini Mac wagon once my bonus check comes next month.

    If I really like it, I see a PowerMac in my future next year. I will have to give it a long evaluation, since I have used PeeCee's for many years, I want to give them a honest evaluation before judgement. I am a UNIX gearhead though, so I think I'm going to love the new Macs.

    Serial busses are all the rage now-a-days. I remember when my first couple of serial devices...

    The good 'ol Commodore 1541 Serial Floppy Drive, man, let me tell you, that thing was a SPEED demon.

    I was much more productive back in those days... That is where I learned the art of modern multi-tasking.

    load "myfavgame",8,1

    Kids now-a-days just click on an icon and the play the game, I say "PFFT!!"

    After you initiated the load command on the serial 1541, you could go take a shower, eat some breakfast, catch the morning news and come back your just finished loading game.

    That my friends is what I call multi-tasking....

    Kids today or just plain lazy. :)

    On our probes and satellites that we send out to deep space, do we stamp anywhere that has our co-ordinates of Earth?

    I would hate to think that we would have a dead probe sitting on a asteroid then another intelligent life form discovers it light years away without any real information of who and where we are.

    Seems to me with our thirst of "Is anything out there?" We would do something like this.

    Then again.....It might be the borg and may be better.
