Hardly anyone is going to want to just barely survive for free
There are plenty of people on welfare, doing just that.
live a luxurious life with all their favorite toys and joys in exchange for a little work
Except that wages will drop. Current minimum wage takes into account that you lose your welfare benefits. If you don't lose your basic income, you don't need nearly as high a wage. So, the life will not be luxurious, just a little bit better.
And because the poor have now more money to spend, the rich will just jack up the prices of the stuff they are selling to the poor, and everything will be like it was.
The taste of liver is personal. Some like it, some don't. Dietary cholesterol has almost no effect on serum cholesterol. Most of the cholesterol in your body is actually produced by your own liver, and this production is adjusted based on how much cholesterol you eat. If you eat more, your body produces less to compensate. On top of that, cholesterol isn't as bad as people have claimed, it only becomes harmful if you already have inflammation and oxidative stress in your body.
Measured values of heavy metals in farm grown animal livers is not higher than same metals in potatoes and carrots, while providing many more nutrients per weight. So, by eating a small piece of liver compared to a big bowl of vegetables, you actually get less heavy metals. Makes sense, because they feed these animals very similar food as we eat ourselves, grown from the same land.
Gluten-free foods are more expensive than gluten ones, often by 2 or more times the price
Only if you want the gluten-free substitutes for traditionally gluten foods. I've switched to a low-carb diet without grains, and as a consequence I'm not getting any gluten either. I'm not paying more than before.
The point remains that the flux of new heat is small. So, yes, you can make it last longer by not using it, but that's kinda pointless.
A better way would be to combine it with solar, and pump the heat back into the ground on a sunny day.
My phone lasts 2-3 days on a charge, which is good enough for me. I'm not sure why having a slo-mo feature is "a pain the ass". If you don't need it, don't use it.
How do you push a button without using tips of your fingers ? And even if you only touch things with other parts of your hand, you'll rest your hands on a desk, or touch other things, and spread the bacteria anyway.
The prices are already similar enough that your claim that solar will never pay off is clearly bullshit. Now add in the hidden cost of coal, the fact that coal will be getting more expensive in the future while solar will be getting cheaper, and it is clear what is the better choice.
Once the chip is developed, the extra cost of 1,000 fps support is very small, so why not ? And while not always useful, there are certainly times when I'd like to shoot some slow-motion footage. Work-related stuff comes to mind.
But the trial is flawed, because it's funded by first world money. To show that it works, you'd have to rely on Kenyan taxes to fund it.

Because you want to fucking live better, that's why! People will always want more.
For some people, better = sitting on the couch.

It does not matter how wasteful the government spending is. All that waste is earning for Americans.
Spoken like there is no trade deficit!
Only the poor will notice a net benefit. The rest will have to pay into the scheme.
In other words, you take money from the rich and give it to the poor.
if fructose is really so bad for you, then why is there a sweetener by a company called "wholesome" that's agave nectar
Because they can make a bigger profit that way.
No, people in the countries that produce these foods cannot afford to eat them.
If growing those foods isn't helping them, they should stop doing it.
People who can't afford liver aren't reading slashdot, so they won't see my comments. Where I live, liver is dirt cheap because nobody wants it.

The alleged problem with gluten is that it's a carborhydrate and the current dieting fad is low carb diets.
Gluten is a mixture of proteins.
Probably not double blind tested, so that doesn't count.
So want to explain to me why you are avoiding *ALL* grains then?
Can you read ? I'm eating low-carb. I'm not purposely avoiding gluten.

If you want vitamin A (and a whole bunch of other nutrients), eat some liver.
Heat shielding only works for so long.

Don't use raw then. At 1000 fps most things don't move much, so there's a lot of potential for temporal compression with minimum loss of quality.

You may try to add some references to your wild claims.
Train loads of coal also degrade over time. Pretty quickly, as a matter of fact.
