You don't think the nForce coming out for Socket A motherboards first will effect this? Intel isn't something that's tangible to you're average consumer, it's just a sticker on the front. If AMD systems are more than just a little faster than Intel systems, people will buy them... and there will be an nForce sticker on the front... next to an AMD sticker.
Intel's postion is not the same a microsoft's, anyone can simply buy an AMD instead of an Intel without any hassle.
Call me uninformed, because I am, but what stops me from buying a cheap Xbox and stripping it's hardware? I was hoping I could get a cheap GeForce3 card...
If the hardware isn't integrated, what's keeps me from doing that?
