  1. Re: Nobody said it "sux" on BeOS For Linux · · Score: 1

If you want to use it cool. Maybe one day I will use it too. Just don't tell other developers to stop wasting their time with a GNU project that benefits everyone and to "jump on board" the OS X revolution.

  2. Linux's true way? on BeOS For Linux · · Score: 1

I admit Mac OS X is nice, but it's proprietary and closed source. I don't see many people running Darwin. Even though Mac's are beautiful machines, the corporation behind them is just as ugly as Microsoft.

Why would you attack these developers and tell them that they should concentrate on developing OS X ? KDE and Gnome are coming along nicely.

You will see more support for OS X when it is at least open source, or GNU (which will never happen).

I just as happy seeing my mother run Windows XP as I am seeing her run OS X. I'd like to see her run a GNU OS, but that time will come. There is no need to be impatient.

Umm, and this is a good thing? The x86 instruction set sucks. I can't wait for EPIC (or something better).

Perhaps what he meant by the term "masses" is some people like to think for themselves, and others would have someone else do the thinking for them.

I design custom machines for our enterprise rollouts, and it does not take three days to research or replace any part. We took advantage of the savings to build a parts closet. As long as you don't skimp on the parts closet it is way more effective than any warranty, plus it doesn't expire in 3 years. Although I admit I did spend four weeks designing and testing different configurations, it is well worth the time and planning since we plan on keeping these machines going for four years or more. Since most people do not do it this way I reserve the right to refer to them as "the unwashed masses", even though I am a part of the same society.

  5. Leader on Nurturing Ideas Into Open Source Projects? · · Score: 4, Funny

I think most projects need a powerful leader to get them started quickly and push them in direction. Design by committee is slow. So start with a powerful leader, like a 8th or 9th level Paladin or Wizard to lead your party to success.
