  1. Re:These protesters annoy me... on Robots vs. Humans And Other Security Issues · · Score: 1

Many med students I've met are med students because they grew up in impoverished surroundings and want to live comfortable, rewarding lives and are willing to work hard to achieve that goal.

Most protest bunnies I've met are worthless filth that are too lazy to work for and create the utopia they envision. It's not capitalisms fault that you and your friends don't have a self sustaining collective. Instead of whining and bitching about the evils of society, try to change it through example. Go to school. Study for a lucrative and personally fufilling career, like medicine. Work for a while and spend thriftily. Drop out of the game after ten years with your pals and start a commune that produces more than agrarian goods. Live happily with your extended family until you die.

Oh wait, that would require more effort than screaming at cops.

When you're a med student, that's your job. It's a rigorous schedule and you're not just studying for grades. Doctors are responsible for lives.

He wouldn't be in debt if he had mommy and daddy to cover his expenses, now would he? From his 100k debt figure, I imagine that a sizable portion of his education has been paid for by scholarships and grants.

There are many, many, many fields where it's easier to make money than medicine. People don't go to med school for cash alone. If you want cash, become a stockbroker or a lawyer or (gasp1) a businessperson.

The beauty of capitalism is that througb wisdom, intellect, shrewdness, and determination, a person can get to the point that they can make world changing acts of philanthopy. Bill Gates, of all people, has just done a greater act of kindness than every protest bunny with a chip on his/her shoulder combined. Plus, he smells better and vandalized less in the process.

    Shame on you,
A poor kid *working* towards med school.

and on AIM you get to choose who you want to chat with. And it's only free in the sense that it's advertiser supported.

How is someone writing a client that makes use of AOL maintained and financed servers any different than someone using java tricks to place their ads over the banner ads of pages that don't belong to them, depriving the websites of their legitimate monies?

I find that the Clancy novel Executive Action is more similar to the current situation, as it opens with a airliner crashing into the capitol building. Let's pray that the future will not parallel the novel, which progresses to biological terrorism against a confused America.

Even if the case was completely fire resistant, I doubt the components it contained would be. CPUs go snap-crackle-pop at room temperature without fans and hard drives don't fare much better. I imagine that after a server room fire with fireproof cases, you'd have a slightly darkened case full of puddled molten glass and stray wiring.

Ok. Let me get this straight. Law, which exists to inhibit freedom at the same time protects freedom... Hmm... Umm... Maybe you have powers of logic on the level of Ayn Rand, but this riddle is about to burn out my tiny reptillian brain.

And in the anarchial society, music would be much easier to find and stylistically abundant as well given that the society has anarcho-socialist leanings.
