Do you know what the ad at the top of this page is right now? You saw it, but you didn't notice.

    Actually, I didn't because I have ad-blocking software. :)

I think that's going a little over the top there. There's just a slight difference between murdering people and downloading MP3's, for heavens sake.

Don't forget Gargoyles. Only ran from 94-96, but it was one of the few decent animated series Disney ever made. It had its share of toys and marketing as well, but the plot and characters were very well done. It was canceled primarily because it couldn't compete with Power Rangers - a big mistake if there ever was one.

Check out http://www.s8.org/gargoyles if you want to know more about the series.

It was actually part of the script at one point, but for some reason they cut it...probably would have made the movie look even lamer than it already is.

Nah, can't really - already ordered presents from them before I heard about the lawsuit...besides, parents gave me a $100 gift certificate for them. Kinda hard to take that to Barnesandnoble.com, isn't it?

Imagine a world where informed parents used filtering software that they controlled.

That's the way it should be done, but do you honestly think that will happen anytime soon? Besides, parents can't just slap a program on there and expect it to do all the work for them - they should be there when the kid is on the net.

Besides, a smart kid will eventually figure out how to bypass the program and look at whatever he wants to. It's a lot harder to do that if Dad or Mom are sitting there watching.
