We are one of the very few companies making it on selling purely software, all the others sell CDs or hardware or something. This means the open source business model is a very bad one at the moment.
She has a darn good point on this. If all that Linsux companies can do is produce pieces of plastic to buy, then I am definitely going to take my money elsewhere. The reason I buy software that is not open source is because I can't get the sources.
Is open source bad? No, just the business model. It's a decent community, it just doesn't work in the corporate world. I know very few people who, faced with a free choice and a paying choice, both of which are perfectly legal, will take the payment route.
You're quite right, a big problem right now is our president's foreign policy. I'm not saying he's a bad president, just that he has currently been a very poor diplomat (what with the way he handled Russia and China). Where's Nixon when you need him?
