It's only time to move on when each person feels it's time to. Just because you moved on years ago, does not mean that someone else cannot still find enjoyment and productivity in an Amiga now. The Amiga may be dead for YOU, but it is not for everyone.

I didn't read that anyone thinks the US is the ultimate ruler of the world in any way. People just have their own beleifs. All US citizens do not think the same way. Most of us will support US companies that do things that we think are ok. If someone else doesn't aggree, why should that bother us? They just disagree. In this case, it happens to be the French government. So what? I don't aggree with many of the policies of the US government. If there was a company doing something that is illegal in the US, but I think it ok - I would support them too. (I do draw the line at going to prison over it...)

Even though that was meant as a joke, it's not a bad idea. VGS adds quite a bit of game selection to a platform that needs it. (Although the situation has improved quite a bit over the last several years.) It wouldn't bother me a bit to see VGS and VPC bundled with every new Mac. (A VPC with dual G4 and native video card support that is.)

It all makes some sense. However, I do think that when I buy something it is mine. The manufacturer no longer has anything to do with it unless there is a warranty issue. (Even then, if I know that I caused the item to fail, I will not send it back to them no matter what the warranty says.) They sell it to me, I take it home. It's mine now. It's my responsibility. If it needs to be recycled, I should find a way. I understand the whole thing about the manufacturer starting to make the item easily recyclable, but bringing them back into the picture still does not feel right to me.

I have an old beat up Mazda truck. When it finally stops running, should Mazda be REQUIRED to take it back?
