Ever watch Soccer on TV.. they have no commericals, just sponsered commerical free times that has their logo at the top of the screen next to the score.. why havn't ad companies thought of doing that for tv shows.. just have the logo of the sponsered commerical free time at the bottom corner somewhere and like before the show starts advertise that this show was brought to you commercial free by BLAH BLAH BLAH... and have the whole ad there where they say like "Obey your thrist, drink spite" and have the sprite logo in a corner thru out the entire epsiode of the show.. if it works for Soccer I don't see why it wouldn't work for other programs.. or atleast other sports..
I'm a Student at ODU where this train is being built. And I've seen a lot firsthand about this probject and also heard alot.
1) The concret colums were installed a year ago, but it wasn't till this year they layed down 40 feet of metal track (installed 3 months ago)ontop of them to rest the car on.
2) There is a bend futher down the track in a long S shape that is said to be too sharp.. So forget 40 mph.
3) Rumors said that if everything goes great, it will be exteneded all the way to Washingon DC.
4) Since all the magnetic technology is inside the cars, no maintances is needed for the track, making it cheaper
5) They can get the car to move forward, the current trick is to getting it to stop..
6) Asked around to see if I could apply for the driver job.. Found out the thing is fully automatic.
It is doable and currently for my summer job between college semesters I installed ID card access door locks. There we used Cat 5 ethernet cables, 2 to power the card reader, 3 to transmit data to the box reciever, and 2 more the power the bolt lock to release.
Also current network 10 base T cards don't even use all 8 wires of the Cat 5, they only use/need 4 (if you ever bought a Linksys Card with included cable, the cable only has 4 wires). Now I'm not sure if Gigabit Ether is the same way (being 4 wires only) but if needed, cards or new standards could be created to incoorperated a current to be transmitted thru the cable.
