    I think Stallman is a lunatic and 20 years from now nobody will even remember his name..
    But , according to him GPL is a temporary measure introduced because of existence of copyright laws.
    Since China does not obey by our copyright laws there is no need for GPL and , frankly China sounds like a dreamland for FSF folks.

    According to RMS GPL is an temporary measure , introduced because of existence of copyright laws.
    If Chinese don't have these laws they are all set for the perfect Stallman style world, aren't' they ?

    You know what ... way more people use these and other "dead end" software than GPLed or any other "approved" software.

    Why Windows, Solaris and host of other Unices are NOT dead despite the fact that these are even less free than Minix ?
    You bring Linux (which might or might not become viable and widely used OS) as an example of proof yet you conveniently forget about thousands of non-free applications which are doing great and don't show any signs of being "dead end software"

    Yep, I do have "WITH_FREETDS" compile option.
    However, this results in some functionaly missing since FreeTDS does not implement many features ( DB_ROWCOUNT) for one.
    Another issue, there is no workable version for Win32.

    Maybe you should start questioning GPL as well since one of the more famous things about this license is that it disallows other people from licensing software based on their own will.
    If you link with GPLed library you are out of luck, you must distribute your app under GPL.
