I installed OS X on my G4/400mhz as soon as it came out. However I only had 128megs of RAM installed. It was so damn slow it was almost unusable! Even with 256megs of RAM its very slow. I guess 512megs is a min for powerusers.

Studio brass obviously take comfort in knowing Jacks and Daniels are on the job -- the duo made Universal's wildly successful "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns" movies...
Jack Daniels was the cause of The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, that explains a lot...

I'd like to see a website that has all our rep's and how they've voted in the past. For me it's a matter of organizing the information in a way that makes sense to me. I'd like to know who to vote for based on how they've acted in the past, but I don't have time to keep up with politics!
So what's the word on using this to build a bomb? After 9-11-01 I'm thinking a little different. I'm not an electrical engineer but I'd like to hear the opinion of one on the matter...
It could be as simple as adding...
RedirectMatch (.*)\cmd.exe$ http://www.sitecollectingdata.com/collector/index. php
RedirectMatch (.*)\root.exe$ http://www.sitecollectingdata.com/collector/index. php
RedirectMatch (.*)\default.ida$ http://www.sitecollectingdata.com/collector/index. php
.. and having the collector throw the data in an SQL database...
... that thinks Bush is just a puppet for the (christian) religous zelots in power? Does he even understand what 'seperation of church and state' means? He's pushing the stem cell scientists to pack up and move to another country that isn't lead by a complete idiot.
I've always found that when I build a website, or any project for that matter, it evolves slowly into what I want. It doesn't really seem to matter how ~many~ people are working on it. It just takes time to all come together.
For system administrators who have not patched their systems, now would be a good time, said Microsoft's Culp.
So why aren't these patches available on the windows update webpage? I'd think most of the NT boys out there don't even know you can download post SP hotfixes from microsoft. Of which there was over 230 last time I checked.
MS'es WinUpdates site could really be leveraged here.
I know a school district that used to use their required.k12.xx.us domain all the time, thats a very long domain for users that have trouble with a 1 button mouse. So they baught their district's name +.com/.net/.org and now use their.org domain all the time, its just so much shorter and faster and easier.
I can't see why any k-12 school would want to use their.us domain. but what about the department of transportation? and the 1000 other departments on the state? they use it and they should, thats where people look for them, in the.state.us domain. you think the.org/.net/.com TLD's are getting full now? if all the state departments moved over it would be a giant hassle, and simply not worth it.
There was NO sarcasm in that first post! None at all! He was completely serious. You are NOT missing the sarcasm. I repeat there was NO sarcasm at all!
"...he also points out that MSN doesn't charge users for its forums. (MySpace, before its demise, also was a no-charge service.)"
Now if those same poeple where paying MySpace.com for the service, I'm sure a class action lawsuit would have formed. On that note I don't think MySpace.com would have just up and quit leaving so many people pissed off.
M$ will do that same thing with any free service they provide..Net will be subscription based right? Am I wrong? I wouldn't put it past M$ to add a clause into the legal spam about reserving the right to change/copy/delete anything anytime.
Ok, so we write yet another outlook VB virus, with a payload to replace the xml file with anti-microsoft links. Then it wouldn't be a "virus", it would be a "SmartPatch"! Maybe ActiveSmartPatch?
Novell has already made a pam modules for NDS. Just install NDS for linux/solaris on the server and copy the PAM module over. Problem solved. You can also use DirXML to sync an AD "tree" with and NDS tree, so in turn you can login to the tree and have the user object on the AD tree.
I use the term tree with AD loosely; understand it that AD isn't truly a hierarchical system. It's a flat database just like their old Domain system. Don't believe me? Test it, create an OU, and make a user called "bsmith". Now create another OU anywhere else and try and create a user named "bsmith". You can't. Seriously look into Novell's NDS as a directory solution, you can't even partition an AD tree. That means the entire database is transmitted to every server, even if their OU has nothing to do with that system. Partitioning a tree keeps the traffic to a minimum while still replicating to other specific servers for redundancy. Also know that in AD, when you edit an attribute in an object, the entire object is resent out to all the servers. Not just that attribute for the object. AD is still not even remotely close to NDS.
NDS runs on Netware, NT, Win2000, Linux, Solaris.
AD runs on Windows2000, and to really use it all your workstations have to be Windows 2000!
I've used SecureCRT under X with Wine before... has anyone tried their 'optimization' software in X with Wine before?
