While I havn't spent a huge amount of time in isreal I would like to agree, yes I did feel safer that where ever I went to be surrounded by young heavily armed men and women. And I didn't feel imposed on by continal searchs, bag searchs etc.
Does anyone know of a tool or a quick fix to stop this thinging chewing up bandwidth?
I run debian and apache (as most of you proberly do) and I'm getting over a 100 requests a minute for it to infect my system. It certainly makes a good DoS worm for us non-MS users as my services slow down and/var creeps towards 100%.
open source will never be accepted in the business world, at least not the way open source is working now. to be accepted, there _must_ be a guarenteed support chain in place for the applicaiton.
speaking as the ceo of a software company I have to disagree with you as the vast majority of the software we write is open source. And a lot of the companies i compete with also write a lot of open source software. The industry has changed, we write the software, release it under open source licence and support it. The difference is we find higher re-use and support becomes an important element of the package.
Hollywood has no desired interest to keep microsoft a monopoly. They only have window PCs littered though the occasional office
If you looked at the overall IT budget for hollywood you will see the bulk of it going to SGI, linux, macos, amiga and other non-ms operating systems. Windows isn't used for doing special effects, editing, system controls and it would be a very long time before microsoft will able to penertrate the movie industry. Man, when was the last time you saw windows been shown in a movie? They use there own special movie OS.
Damn, I suppose this means I have to get back to work now.
Does this mean no more 18 hour straight gaming periods? Large LAN fests at my place? And getting behind in other stuff cause i'm too busy playing the latest and greatest from loki.
I have a server named in honour of loki. I pray they last longer than it does.
Though i do hear they make games for windows too, though somehow solitaire and mine sweeper dont have the same appeal to me.

Anyway thats my thoughts on the matter
While traveling I have noticed that arab airlines normally have 2 plain clothed security guards on flights to help prevent possible hostage takeovers.
Also secuirty on airports is a lot more tight, it may be an idea for the USA to take a few leasons in security from the middle east.
paragraphs man.anyway. solve problem. dont ever have a server OS that requires rebooting for meer patchs
