Dear god, listen to yourself man... you've just said in the same paragraph that iPod was a flop, and that HP is a very talented company that put out high quality PCs.
How do you sleep at night without twitching, and giggling profusely? It's like you intentionally said the EXACT opposite of the real-world truth!
The iPad was, and still is, the de facto standard of tablet technology simply because no one has come out with a viable alternative with the same quality. No fanboy'ism about it, it's actually getting kind of sad. HP is doing a very intelligent thing by leaving before they suck so badly that everyone laughs at them any more...
You can also ditch your Android and use your iPhone with said provider... which I'm going to guess is the OTHER gsm provider, T-Mobile. Your smart enough to Jailbreak without twitching violently, right?
I just think there was a bit of confusion over the ambiguous use of the term "power supply", since most people refer to the power brick plugged into the wall and the netbook/laptop as a "power supply".
You just meant literally any form of power supply.
Do you often roam outside of your wifi range while ssh'ing? I know the only time I've ever done that is when I intentionally started walking down the street with my iPad while connected to my wifi in the house... other than that, it's purely situational awareness.
I do a lot of coding on the bus. In order to do so with an iPad, I'd need a $720 per year cellular data plan.
Or you could jailbreak your iphone and install PDANet, and do free wifi tethering through your phone's 3G. I do this with my iPad all of the time. I didn't get the 3G on my iPad because I knew I'd be intentionally locked to AT&T or Verizon. Note: I use T-Mobile.
We aren't talking about Windows here, no eyelash curlers in this conversation. A PC is a usable piece of equipment also, even if it does have it's glaring deficiencies.
and for those who were too lazy to learn typing in school, we invented IRC. You may suck in the first day, but by the 3rd month you'd be typing 30+ wpm just trying to get a word in before someone else;)
I know your trying to make a point, however just get a bluetooth keyboard. (yes, they work nicely) As far as mouse, a tablet's very essence is touchscreen.
That being said, it's just silly to have these binary conversations about 'which is the dominant technology'. Tablets are an extension of the desktop platform, and they complement each other.
Funny, I've never had an Intel processor go 'tits up' on me either, and I've had at least 2000 servers through my hands. This doesn't include the 10+ desktops I've had through the years which have worked as servers as well.
But then again, if an AMD processor doesn't die, then it must be better than Intel right?
Disclaimer: I'm a fan of AMD, but I love competition to keep things rolling.
It's a tool alone... I've had a GPS since 1998, and really it's just a tool to me. I've travelled across the United States about 4-5 times with GPS and have changed my course quite often along the way. It's a map of the roads basically, and let's you quickly know your alternate routes. It has a compass usually so North-South-East-West is relatively simple.
No matter what, always trust yourself... but as said in the past by an American president, "Trust, but verify".
That's not a good thing, I'm sure since you followed all the rules of the road the person who hit you should be disciplined by the enforcement officers in the proper way.
Well, if you want to get all purist and shitty about it, it's simply a technology that has signals being recieved by satellites, which are triangulated in order to figure the coordinates on the landmass.
However, the most consumer tools using the technology do the birds-eye view (or 3D driving view), and let you instant compare alternate routes. Yes, there are some that simply show the coordinates, however those are not the mainstream.
Judging by the fact that he and his friend just got out of Target, and were aiming for Staples shortly after, I'm accustomed to believe they're within the early 20's bracket and probably don't remember life without GPS.
That whole GUI thing has you pretty hung up, doesn't it?
It's HP... 'nuff said.
Buy it and find out. You're a hacker, right? ... right...?
Really? I thought that Apple was a boxer and Tyson was a company!

Right, but to be way ahead of something you have to be in the same field...
Otherwise, it'd be something like 'Why is a raven like a writing desk?"
yeah because it's not the application used, it's obviously the operating system, and the geeky fanbois surrounding it.

You type like a 13 year old that found an Ubuntu ISO on the net...

Oh my god, you're "that" guy.
You know we laughed at you when you started spouting on about this in the lunch room today, right?
and for those who were too lazy to learn typing in school, we invented IRC. You may suck in the first day, but by the 3rd month you'd be typing 30+ wpm just trying to get a word in before someone else ;)
... and neither would a tablet with a mouse, keyboard, and a nice big external drive.
I rest my case.
I know your trying to make a point, however just get a bluetooth keyboard. (yes, they work nicely)

You could put down $99 for a decent GPS and have that...
Did you happen to think it might not be because of the GPS but because of the cell phone attached to said person's head?
So suddenly a mapping and coordinate technology is responsible for litter?
That would have nothing to do with the person going there would it?
You sound like a person living near Yosemite when the park opened.
