Even if this process is hack-proof (yet to be seen), anything that forcibly takes control away from the pilot is going to be dangerous. What if the only way to avoid a mid-air collision is to bank into one of these "soft walls"?
During a pre-launch interview with Payload Commander, Mike Anderson, he said this would be the heaviest shuttle ever upon landing due to the number of science experiments on board. Could they have been pushing the design parameters?

We had a concerted effort at my company years ago to see if the Dvorak keyboard would improve performance for randomly selected users. It failed. Any difference in performance was offset by the difficulty in switching back to the Qwerty away from the workplace.
Until a completely new input system comes around, we're stuck with the Qwerty for better or worse.
After ATT bought out our local cable company almost 2 years ago, they had canceled the imminent plans to upgrade my neighborhood. Now 18 months later, they finally got around to competing the job. Having a true 2-way broadband connection is so sweet, I can live with that for a long time to come. By the time they get back around to us again, fixed wireless will likely be the standard.
Next it will be locking you out of the car if it decides that you are unable to drive.;-)

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Shamefully poor engineering on A.I.

Dreary ending aside, I can't stand poor engineering. After creating a mechanical and computational marvel like David, they overlooked (or worse, intentionally designed) an open ended esophagus that dumps straight into the internal circuitry of the chest cavity? What an insanely stupid shortcoming. At the stage of development they had reached, it would have been so simple to implement a fully operative ingestion and excrement system. How can you possibly treat David like a real boy if he NEVER eats?

Some in Dallas, and sites south-east of Dallas, Nacogdoches, Palestine and St. Augustine, so far all in Texas.

Read "And He Built a Crooked House". Heinlein did a bang up job of explaining a hypercube there using toothpicks and clay.
