My thoughts exactly, and one could take it yet further; even power and medical care can be considered luxuries by those wihtout sanitation, food or even clean drinking water.
Wow, talk about low quality. 2 or every 10 they make is bad. The amount of money wasted on that is crazy and it will drive up what we have to pay for it.
I've heard the figure is actually as low as 1 in 5...
Seriously though - it's early days yet and the ratio will improve as they work out the teathing problems.
...the other day I was installing XP SP1 on my computer outside of a firewall and it was pwned before it finished downloading SP2.
Which is exactly why you should harden your installation as much as possible before connecting it to any network whatsoever, let alone the Internet at large. Install from CD, if that doesn't include SP2, put that on a CD too and install it from that. By the time you may actually need a network connection (e.g. to download updates you can't get otherwise) you're already half way to a "secure" machine. Same goes for any machine you're planning to connect to the Internet at some later stage, regardless of which OS you're installing.
I'm also struggling to find a use for this feature, but I don't see any reason why not to include things like this future releases. Plenty of users obviously like this way of working, and they should be able to if they so desire. Just as with Firefox, you still need to do something "extra" to open a tab, whether that be right-clicking or setting some configuration option to use tabs by default. Ultimately, it's all about giving the user a choice which, for me, is what free software is all about.
But for encryption authentication to be meaningful the user has to generate keys, and that's the part you're probably thinking is too hard for the average user. But there's really no way to make it simpler without defeating the object entirely.
I don't know about that. A couple of weeks ago, as I was reinstalling my main Linux box, I installed the latest Thunderbird package and the rather handy Enigmail extension. I was much impressed to be greeted at startup by a easy-to-follow wizard which took me painlessly through the entire process!
> A federal court today spanked two telemarketers...
I'd have sentenced them to a term of no less than four years in a federal spank-me-on-the-ass prison.
They were obviously instructed to produce documentation that accurately reflects their software. So that would be latter...

I used to do that too, but it makes your coffee go cold real quick - old platters make remarkably good heat sinks. OK for cold drinks though!
Just change the target material from Rick to something less innocent.
You mean something like this?
Never buy anything based on new technology today - there'll always be a better, faster and cheaper option tomorrow.
The author obviously counldn't find enough information on the Atari Jaguar. I guess both of the owners were unavailable for comment.

My personal favourite remains Marvin Gaye's "Central Heating", closely followed by "Slow Running Water" from Deep Purple.

Well, if they'd said today it'd imply yesterday, seeing as it's already tomorrow (today).
