Seriously? So maybe the RIAA and their SS chums have a way of prioritizing the crooks. But still, are you seriously saying that a high-speed burner is equivalent to 2.5 burners, or some such B.S. It still takes someone to load the tray, close, hit "record", unload. That part doesn't change no matter how fast you can burn.
The RIAA is trying to cut down on legal use of their disks. Congrats on their big bust, but can't they just tell the truth?

Yes, iTunes is slow, but hopefully not because you're convering MP3s. Instead, change your importing prefs to AIFF (or WAV if ya really wanna). Then you get much faster importing (straight copying versus conversion I suppose...) AND a much better sound when you're done.
Of course, it takes up much more disk space. I just erase them when done....
