If this is not the last version of a BSD-based Macintosh I guarentee that the next version will be alot less *nix-y.
Of the three graphic artists (their main user-base) at my office who've used Mac OSX two have downgraded back to OS9 and the other spends all her time in the emulation mode. Macintosh users are not accustomed to low-level access to their computers and nor do they want it.
Apple would've done a hell of alot better to build a WM for *nix and continued making the Mac Evangelistas happy by giving them the same ol'
product with an OS upgrade with some cheesy feature which they would've lapped up (like Sherlock??).
I just wish these things weren't so expensive. It's a friggin cartoon!
I hear ya'. While Taco can cash in 40 shares of LNUX (after capital gains) to get the disks we have to go and work a full half-hour for the equivalent cash!

BTW: I got my 3-disk set on Monday morning from Buy.com for $32 w/ shipping.
I know this'll do hell to my karma but I submitted this and (surprising) it wasn't published. Fuckedcompany is currently reporting impending VA Linux lay-offs. Anyone want to hazard a guess who from Slashdot is getting axed? Whenever a parent company needs to trim the fat they hit editorial depts. Trust me on this; I experienced it first-hand at CBS Healthwatch.
