    It would seem this policy is all about prepaid phones since phones with monthly charges would already need to have a name associated with them.

    I would guess the UN's stance pretty much is the US's stance. It wouldn't be the first time the US has used its influence to extend their drug war to other nations.

    Ever heard of Portugal? I assure you it exists and it has yet to fall into a nightmare of addiction and ruined lives yet. Just reduced addiction, reduced crime, and reduced drug related health problems.

    Why not panic? Those N1 sales are with basically no advertising. If Google decided to start running TV ads round the clock like Apple does those sales figures could change pretty quickly.

    But games like scrabble have already made it past their approval process. They just need to make apps for other platforms that work with it.

    Advanced-pro-tip: Rhetorical questions are for making statements. He was pointing out there's no reason why this sort of game has to be limited to the iPhone.

    Ahh, possibly. I don't know how much energy is lost by the atmosphere but I imagine it's pretty small compared to the 70-80% loss from the panels themselves.

    He went on to describe a good way to detect tsunamis with a satellite. This is not a solution to the problem that the original idea hoped to fix. We already have ocean based systems that quickly notify authorities of impending tsunamis, notifying people in the path of the tsunamis is the problem.

    Someone seriously studied that idea??? Forget about economic sense, that idea doesn't make sense period unless you want your city to do away with nighttime altogether.

    What is with all these nonsensical comments implying that the police in this case haven't done any investigative work beyond DNA testing? Traditional investigative techniques didn't magically solve every case, plenty of times nothing of value could be found. Obviously investigators looked at the scene of the crime and the only clue they found was a blood sample, so what more do you think your old-time gumshoe can do with that?

    I imagine a microscopic particle of glass embedded somewhere in two people's combined wardrobes would be almost impossible to find especially if they ever did laundry and it's not very good evidence anyway unless the source of the glass could be confirmed.

    Sure, ask anyone involved in any accident and what caused their accident will be most important to them. But what percentage of accidents do the recent problems with Toyota's comprise? I didn't say there were no accidents due to car failures, but the fact is even with Toyota's problems drivers are still responsible for more accidents and deaths then anything else.

    I would feel much safer. Drivers are the cause of most crashes. If they can be replaced with something more reliable it would be a huge improvement.

    I'm not so sure about that. A few years ago I would have agreed. However, I listen to the talk in restaurants, coffee shops, supermarket lines, and talk radio, and I hear a great deal of anger over bullshit made up by Fox and friends.
