  1. Best since System Shock on BioShock Review · · Score: 1

I downloaded it through Steam (from Valve) and it rocks! I played the whole game through with little sleep in two days, and started again yesterday. It is well put together and you just get chills when you hear "I'll wrap you in a sheet..." or "... Mr. Bubbles..."

And no, that was not enough to be called a spoiler.

This game sucks you in to a sleepless festival of gaming goodness. For those with crashes and good video cards I would recommend updating your drivers before playing this game. You can also turn down the resolution for better movement, it does not detract from your enjoyment at all. You can do so many different things with your "abilities" and there are several ways to complete the goals necessary in the game.

    Enjoy! I did!

  2. Strange on Analyst Says Blu-ray DRM Safe For 10 Years · · Score: 1

I just read the August Maximum PC which says that the program AnyDVD can rip from HD DVD and Blueray. Does that not constitute breaking the DRM??

  3. And the blame goes to... on EU Considering Regulating Sale of Violent Games · · Score: 1

Parents. When will they take responsibility for their kids? Sheesh, "It takes a village.." is crap. Sure, give up your rights to make sure your kids turn out ok to the government.

  4. Why not do something positive? on Tech Workers of the World Unite? · · Score: 1

Ok, someone will not think this idea is positive. Everyone know IT people do not think the same as "normals" :) right?

I had an idea to form an IT Guild (union of some form), with the point being to look out for the workers without being petty, mony grubbing (fair day for fair pay) and doing their best to help the company including accepting layoffs sometimes. The point would be to have a network in the "Guild" so that members that are laid off can transition smoother to another job, maybe some ties with headhunters or employment services. It would not be an expensive guild and volunteer supported kind of like an open source organization to keep the cost of membership down.

And yes "Guild" I know there are a bunch of D&D IT guys and gals out there, and if we want to put our stamp on something why not be unique.

  5. Re:No single-player? on Dungeons and Dragons Online Impressions · · Score: 1

Totally disappointed, if only I could get my money back. At least I can cancel before my 30 days free is up. Game looks fantastic, but if you can't solo. I mean c'mon game designers, you want someone to try it once or to get hooked?

  6. Speed? on Cable Beats DSL For Average Speed · · Score: 1

I live in Northern British Columbia Canada, and have used our local Cable and our Local Telco's DSL and I would say that my DSL is twice the speed most of the time of the Broadband. My $0.02

  7. Re:But they are! on Apple and Linux Beneficial to Each Other? · · Score: 1

Yeah, the newer powerbooks are nice. One of the things I find difficult about Macs is the cost of replacement parts.... I just bought an all-in-one MB for my new server for $150 and iMac Mother board is double that plus.

Gotta say I really like OS 10.2 Jaguar though, I am typing on a Mac running it right now. :)
