Presumably she has already paid taxes on her millions. Who cares about the taxes on the interest? I'm trying to imagine what 8% (after tax - assuming she can get 14-20% returns from smart, medium risk investments) of a billion would feel like, every year.
Umm, there are plenty of other examples apart from Mike Tyson. Gary Coleman? I'm too lazy to look up more. Riches to rags is a lot easier than rags to riches. Ask Britney Spears. Oh she has plenty of money, still. But not for long if she keeps it up.
It has come to the attention of our firm, L.L. Dullard, Cohen, Goldberg and Associates, that you have published or caused to be published the names of two (2) characters that are the intellectual property of our client, Ms. J.K. Rowling...
Harry Potter book was published. And guess what? Groosham Grange is about a boy that enrolls in a school for magic and the students engage in magic contests. Sounds familiar?
Even older than this, Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea books start out just like that - a young boy enrolls in a school of magic and later has adventures, etc. I remember reading this stuff in the early 70's.
There's absolutely nothing stopping you from writing a "How to use Vista" book and using factual content about the OS (ie screenshots, procedures, mothods, icons, etc) in your book, so long as you make sure to cite the source.
Whereas the entire point of RIPA is to ensure that saying "I don't know what the key is" is NEVER a defense, even if it's true.
Amazing, especially whereas one of the FIRST things any attorney will attack is anything based on human memory, since our memories are so weak and imperfect. Which is why we doctors have to write down absolutely everything instead of just "remembering" it.
However when they write laws they expect us to remember keys forever. I've forgotten more than one password in my lifetime. Considering most web sites have a "I forgot my password" function, I'd say I'm not the only one.
Wow, talk about delusions of grandeur. You think that Congress acted on your letter? Well done. Now take your meds.
The interesting thing is that even if you manage to "regulate" P2P inside the US, umm, that still leaves P2P in the hands of your alleged "enemies" outside the US. So the point is?
omygodit'sheadedstraightforus!
If you can get that kind of performance, become a portfolio manager immediately.
Let me introduce you to the world of offshore mutual funds...
It's not MY fault if you're only getting 4-odd% in your "money market" account.
This was done as an exercise to demonstrate how fallible the human memory can be, even among intelligent people.
So why did he do it in a class full of lawyers? (ducking and running)

which is akin to shooting ourselves in the foot.
Why act surprised? We humans have proved ourselves to be very good at that.

Are you saying it's OK to steal from the rich but not from the poor?
Why not? After all, the government does it.
Oh sorry, when a government does it it's called TAXATION...

Nope, but airboarding does.
So what happens when YOU want to, say, open your safe to put something in it?
A lot of "bible" printers are going to jail...
we'll be wishing some of the billions of dollars in highway funding was spent on practical mass transit solutions instead.
There was a time they subsidized railroads, too.
Wait wait you also forgot the "I believed I was acting correctly at the time given the information I had" line.
but I said nothing because I was not a terrorist...

Can't you just plead the 5th when they ask for the key?
Try doing that in the UK.
"The whatI"?
didn't your parents ever tell you that two wrongs do not make a right?
Nah, it's cheaper to buy a few more politicians.
Wow, talk about delusions of grandeur. You think that Congress acted on your letter? Well done. Now take your meds.
