We modern, civilized people in the 21st century want safety and control.

Speak for yourself. Ultimately we end up locking everyone in cages under 24/7 surveillance and then you have 100% "safety" and control. What you safety nuts fail to understand is that the criminal will always, ALWAYS have the initiative. All these attempts at enforcing pre-crime and thought crime merely result in abuse by authorities but not actual "safety".

Drug sniffing dogs are no more addicted to drugs than bomb sniffing dogs are addicted to explosives, cash sniffing dogs addicted to cash or cadaver sniffing dogs addicted to dead people. Seriously, dogs have keen noses and will find whatever they are trained to find. The rumor that dogs are turned into drug addicts in order to find drugs is pure unadulterated bullshit.

Honestly I think the kind of person who is likely to go off on such a petty rant isn't going to give a damn if there's a camera there or not. Their sense of superiority and ego is such that they don't actually think at any moment that they are wrong, so what difference would a camera make? It's like saying that the guy with anger issues will not have a road rage episode because of a camera. He's not thinking about the camera - he's off in his own little rage world temporarily but completely disconnected from reality.

Consider it deducted from the amount of payload/second stage you can carry. But if your first stage is engineered to be more than enough for what you need as payload anyway (ie it's already cost effective) you might as well try to recover the cost of it with a soft powered landing and make MORE profit.
