In fact, one of the few nice things you could say about sendmail was that it was better than it's predecessor (delivermail) which basically didn't. Maybe that was the innovation you are talking about.
You have just more than doubled your production costs, and that's just for two architectures. Good luck selling these at a profit. And God help your code maintainers.
