I partly agree with Intel on this one. In many ways China is still backwards and has many isolationist tendencies. China should in no way put into effect a foreign software ban in any shape or form within the private sector where freedom of choice should reign. Should they try to impose their own China Linux OS they will be making a big mistake for the future.
Government is a different case and I think they should be able to implement a non-MS standard.
This has me thinking about the automated wireless toll technology that helps us speed through the toll payment lines from DC to NY. Will we get tickets in the mail that say you speeded from point A to point B because it does a little simple math? hmmmm...more revenue..tasty:bigbro
Actually a friend of mine is involved in the creation of a game Gastronaut Studios (needs to update his site) it looks awesome. He spent just over a year immersed in creating his own 3D engine and puzzle-time-multi player based game.
The article says nothing about the cell phone browser war soon that's brewing. As we throw out WAP for full website functionality on a mobile this war will increase.
IMHO Opera is the mobile browser king right now. They make an excellent product for both Symbian OS and Nokia.
if speakeasy is doing the billing: in the mind of the customer speakeasy is the connection. thus, if the local wifi network guru doesn't have the best skills - speakeasy may begin to look like the problem. (for business broadband on the east coast or dc earthwave.net.)
Wireless security should be setup via obsticles. The best examples have already been featured on slashdot. Use the light bulbs that distrupt the same 2.4Ghz frequency (can't find the old slashdot article). Just place these around the perimiter of your wifi network. Great for corporate campuses.
A company just wired my building in Washington DC. They charge $19.95 per month for DSL. Not bad for 1.5/384. Think they only provide service in buildings around the DC metropolitan area.
Fuel cells will be the likely candidate for replacing our oil habits. Hydrogen IS the most common element that we know of (now) and can be produced rather cheaply. When we begin converting to fuel cells we can dip into so many other fuels beyond hydrogen like boron (less ignitable).
Regarding solar cells: I think they have a long way to go and they use poisons such as gallium arsenic.

Almost time to short sell SCO.

sounds kind of boring.
American Technology Corporation has a much cooler product that will revolutionize audio (not streamline an old tech).

Should also charge:
.01 cents per foot.
Phone/Cable company for suppling the wire/cable.
And wires/cable manufacturers say
...from awesome original comic
...to anime
...to hollywood
that's how the story goes
I'm sick of paying for Amtracks poor management...maybe this will take a little of the pressure off the taxpayers.

Security is now possible as long as your physical infrustructure has a perimiter of these RF lights.
