Awww shit...you saw Indiana Jones for $7.50..when was that exactly? At Blockbuster last weekend? Last I checked, the last one came out in 1989. If I rember correctly through the haze of the years, US$7.50 wasn't the price to see latest of the movies and that wasn't the "Last Crusade." Regardless, its fookin' Indy, and while he may not have the breasts of Jolie, its much less derivitive...

Y'all are reading far too much into this article. Media all over the world, whether free are not, plays by the same rules: ~60%local info, weather, sports ~35% national info, weather, sports ~5% international info, weather, sports Why? Because people everywhere (French, Ethopian, American, Japanese, whatever) are self-centered. Our priorities are based that way and the media knows that and panders to it. The only real difference between European and American media is scale and Europe has more women represented behind the front desk. I can assure you when Intershop was featured on a news program in Germany, the news didn't mention Silicon Valley, or anything else about the development of internet companies. Too much detail and historical background blurs the current report, so when faced with a certain amount of time devoted towards "history", people throughout the media business choose the information most relevant to their local, target audience.

Amadou Diallo wasn't killed by the State as in Big Brother. The Federal gov't had nothing to do with what NY cops do. He wasn't killed by the State of New York either. There wasn't a memo circulating around from the Governer to kill this guy. He wasn't killed by the City Government of New York either. Whether you like the Mayor or not, he didn't order an execution. He was killed by men who did wrong. To put another spin on it, McVeigh was executed by the Federal gov't, according to the laws passed by the duly elected representatives. If you don't like such laws, vote for people who will change them. If people who would change them don't get elected, it is because the majority of people who voted chose against your beliefs. That's the problem with living in a democracy: if more people disagree with you then agree with you too bad. But then, if you want, you can always move to the Global South and see if the alternatives are any better.

It's stated somewhere in their FAQ - you have the same sort of open/closed character system as in Diablo2, whith closed characters stored in their vault (i.e. server) and when you check it back in, if you have gained too much XP, or too powerful of items, then it gives you the option to keep the items and become an open character or reduce the gains to what is acceptable and stay closed. Thus there is a standard for keeping play level across the board, while Monty Hauler's can play according to their own style without impacting others.
