I recall reading that in the US Army, soldiers were only allowed to have ONLY a cell phone, or ONLY a PDA, or ONLY a laptop, but not a pda and a laptop, or a laptop and a cellphone.
How would the treo play into this scheme?
I believe that the US Navy has standardized on Palm, and has sync ports on their ships (!)
Other note: what sort of battery would actually last on a color PocketPC or PalmOS as long as, per se, a standard phone battery (meaning, like around 10 hours of continual PDA/phone usage? I know that PocketPC's usually get only 5 or so hours of continual use)
I'll get slain for this...
but I don't want to run linux on my laptop. I want it to work.
Stats I'm looking for:
13" xga screen (although a 12" xga would be nice)
MIN 600mhz processor
128 meg
10 gig (20+ would be great)
32 meg ATI M4 or GeForce 2go (16 is acceptable)
CD and Floppy in one
I really don't care too much about the processor speed.
I'd like to have win2k, and 95 (or 98, whichever runs oldschool dos stuff better) dual-boot.
I've noticed, over time, that any list that gets produced by any source (ie PC Gamer, Gamecenter, etc) usually contains many of the same games in it.
I must say, though, I wholly agree with many of the games included in the list...
but why wasn't UT on it?
Ultima Underworld was on the top ten. Huzzah.
Where can I find copies of some of those older games on the list, ie the bard's tale?

All this, for sub-2000$ would be nice.
