That meant he would have followed with Kyoto protocal and insured that the emmision of gasses related to global wraming would be reduced to the standards of the treaty.

And how much of this did he try to do during his final time in office? He could have laid some of the groundwork in moving the US closer to compliance, even without getting the treaty ratified itself. He WAS president. No saying "he woulda done this" or "he woulda done that". He DIDN'T do.

And I suppose you don't notice Dick Cheney's hand up Bush's ass.

And here I thought only Republicans were overly concerned about what goes on in people's bedrooms...

God, I love the Slashdot hypocrisy. The people who would jump down your throat for violating the GPL are the ones who are the ones encouraging copyright violation. Copyrights are EVIL, but don't you dare cross the GPL!

China is the #2 emitter of CO2 (total, not per capita.) But becasue they have 50 billion people they should just be allow to increase emission? What kind of logic is that? Hell, the US doesn't even have to cut emissions then! We just need to stop using birth control and start cranking out babies. If every couple has at least 10 kids, we could nip this pollution problem in the bud!

Let's see, 90% of the wealth. 90% of people on this planet suffer famines, poverty, wars, and genocides and are forced to live livestyles they have not voluntarily chosen.
Kind of makes *your* problems seem rather unimportant when you look at the situation with a bit of perspective.

That's a total bullshit line. Yeah, so someonew somewhere in the world is suffering. Does that mean I don't have a right to complain? Does that mean I'm just suppose to shut up and take whatever comes my way? Hell no.

No, I'm not a USAian. Just like the Chinese are not PRCians and the British are not UKGBNIans. And "citizens of the US are Americans" and "Canadians are Americans" are not necessarily mutually exclusive statements. Lets take a look at Webster:

    Main Entry: 1American
    Pronunciation: &-'mer-&-k&n, -'m&r-, -'mar-, -i-k&n
    Function: noun
    Date: 1578
1 : an American Indian of No. America or So. America
2 : a native or inhabitant of No. America or So. America
    3 : a citizen of the U.S.

Holy shit! Words can have more than one meaning?! What a shocker!!

So the lesson for the day, boys and girls, is that "American" can be used to refer to only citizens of the US, or to refer to any inhabitants of North or South America.
Gee, wasn't that a tough lesson?! Whew!

The reason "there are lies, damn lies, and statistics" rings so true, is that statistics don't tell the whole story. Singapore has a low crime rate, but it doesn't mean I want to live there, either.

Yeah, sure. AI has no political leanings. Just like Greenpeace, right?
