I had that idea too. Seems like a LOT of people do.

My machine would have a verification stage where the ballot would appear behind plexiglass. Using separate controls you would either accept or reject the ballot. Accepting would automatically deposit the ballot in a clear plexiglass box. Rejecting would shred the ballot and allow the voter to re-vote using the machine.

The machine would keep a count of all the ballots either cast or rejected. Before removing a ballot box, the machine would print a summary of all the ballots cast.

The votes themselves would be counted via optical scanners and OCR. No barcodes would be allowed since people can't READ barcodes. That makes the election non-transparent.

Oh and one more reform. November 4th should be a federal holiday. We have two holidays for veterans who fought for our freedom of democratic choice. We have ZERO days dedicated to exercising our freedom to democratic choice.

I seriously doubt that the handwriting recognition is a big thing for now. Just the ability to get the things into digital format.

The ability to sit back and browse is probably good as well. These devices will likely be used as portable kiosks for charting in hospitals and other similar applications.

Just give them time. The convertible notebook entails little more than a traditional notebook. They could ultimately replace the notebook as the dominant seller (as it has replaced the desktop PC).

He was dancing on the head of a pin. He did give testimony that wasn't 100% forthcoming. That isn't a crime.

They had some very expensive lawyers in the special prosecutors office. If they can't formulate a concrete question like ...
"Did Monica Lewinsky give you oral sex???? A blowjob, a hummer, etc...???? Was your penis in her mouth? Did she polish 'little bill'??? Have you had an erection in her presence????"

If you carefully read their criterea for "sexual relations" you will find a blowjob wasn't included. Nor are blowjobs normally considered sexual since you can't get pregnant by swollowing cum!!!!! I believe it's conservatives who advocate "procreation only" sex.

Why wasn't the questioning specific. Because they were still fishing. The whole effort was a fishing effort. All they caught was the president's dick. I have no idea whether it was "a whopper".

By the way, the "identifying feature" that Paula claimed to know was curvature of the penis. The president's doctors testified to the contrary. If you want to examine the issue with your own eyes, I suppose thats up to you.

As everyone probably knows, freezing forms water crystals which shred molecules beyond repair.

The key is finding a way to stop crystals from forming, likely by some type of organic anti-freeze. Perhaps even external forces could be applied to keep the water from crystalizing.

In any case, pointing to other animal hybernation is relevant. It's possible to freeze certain varieties of fish SOLID then dethaw them. Wallah, they survive without a scratch.

Finding ways to transfer natures suspension technologies to humans will be the key. It's possible that such "long-range" astronauts will be bred via gene therapy rather than modified.

In any case, it's still cheaper and easier to send robots. If there is something REALLY interesting, then perhaps a colinization mission would be formed (a two way trip would be out of the question).

Of course, we still have lots of research to do in physics and propulsion to make anything of this sort feasible. Faster than light phenomenon has been discovered under laboratory conditions. Cracking the physics may yield faster than light propulsion that will make near solar missions possible.

I'm kinda cool with the Native American concept that you cannot OWN land persee. The land belongs to the earth and those who come after use.

What we call "ownership" are really indefinite rights of use. We can barter those rights with others. Those rights may be subject to regulation by common (government) authorities subject to the overall well-being of society.

Such regulation includes zoning (residential, agricultural, industrial), mining uses (including sand, peete, topsoil, water), right of way (utilities, transportation, etc...), environmental (maintaining sustainable land (you don't have the right to DESTROY land in such a way that makes it unusable for future generations)).
