is great for news. But what about action/adventure shows? When can I see Buffy kicking vampire butt on InternetTV? When can I see Jack Bower stopping yet another terrorist plot in 24 hours? Until InternetTV has stuff like that, it can't replace regular TV.
Certainly, I can't KEEP things on Tivo. But, since the PPVs are SUID, I take my own sweet time watching them. If they automatically delete them after, say, 2 days, there's a good chance I wouldn't get to see them in time, therefore a very slim chance that I'd buy the damned things in the first place!
Believe me, I plan to! Since I'm not a sports fan, I don't record NFL games, but I DO buy PPVs. I watch them when I'm ready, and that might be weeks or months after I recorded them. With this change, I'll stop buying PPVs!
1. The whole idea of Tivo is to watch stuff on MY schedule! Maybe I pay for a movie and plan to watch it, but an emergency happens and I can't watch it right then.
2. Currently, I order a PPV, and it stays on Tivo's HD until I delete it (presumably after I've watched it). Any change to that makes PPV on Tivo much less attractive.
That's the problem! Missouri was one of the early states, but by the time we voted, it was already clear that Kerry had won the nomination. If you were a Dean supporter, all you could do was scream in frustration (sorry).
Well, I don't think I could vote for a guy named "Marxist Hacker", but I agree that we need new blood in politics. I'm already pissed off at the Big Two! Neither one represents 90% of the country.
Generally, when people gripe about Debian being outdated, they're talking about stable (Woody).
Woody doesn't have Firefox or Thunderbird, and I think Mozilla is barely at 1.00. Perl is 5.6, I think KDE is 2 (correct me if I'm wrong), and the kernel is 2.2.X!
You might not realize just how tired you are. One time, during a long bout of insomnia, I nearly zoned out at least twice on the way to work. I knew I was tired, but I thought I could make it safely. I made it, but I was just lucky.
2.6 is SUPPOSED to be the stable branch, but there are no guarantees, especially since the distros are supposedly responsible for stabilizing it. However when/if 2.7 comes out, I'm SURE it will be unstable. You can still count on that.
OMG, I got a letter like that! It seemed odd, but I trust Mom completely, so I went to the link. The bank must've revamped its site, because it didn't look anything like it did last time I went there, but since it came from Mom, it must be okay. I entered all the information they asked for, and thought everything was fine, until I remembered, Mom doesn't have a computer!
I'm not sure it would make any practical difference. Anyone who wants Gnome on Slackware can still use Dropline. The rest will use KDE or Xfce or something else. I'm a little disappointed, but it won't affect my distro choice.
5. Name one piece of software that is perfect: Hello World! At least it was, until I added a routine that asks your name, and it buffer-overflowed.:(;)
If I hit one button it sets the speed, and the other one accelerates to an already set speed. I hit that one, and it got stuck and instead of accelerating me to the speed I wanted, it kept on accelerating. A quick tap on the brakes deactivated it, but it was still unnerving.
I don't see why Badnarik/Cobb aren't legitimate cnadidates. The fact that their odds of winning are about the same as mine doesn't make them illegitimate.

Actually, the proper term for the entertainment industry is the opposite.
NAZI!!
Where's Godwin when you need him?

Kerry supporters would say the same thing. The only question is whether we're linked with Adam or some chimp.

Yeah, if I don't hear something soon, I'll demand a refund!

Or should I wait for 2.6.9.1.XYZ?

You'd be surprised at how complicated the code is.
See below:
if (vote == kerry) bush++
else if (vote == bush) bush++
else if (voter == dead) bush++

I thought it was kugly.
1948?
Would it make that sound everytime a popup opened?
The truck was Goliath, and had no AI, but it was as indestructible as KITT and a whole whopping lot bigger!

Well, that is giving the Greens/Libertarians too much credit. The Republicrats are quite capable of making monkeys of themselves without outside help.

Why not? We already have two idiots on the ballet. What's one more?
