    I do not think they are "right and good".
    I believe government should keep its hands as far removed as possible and that includes subsidies as well as excessive regulations.
    Subsidies are natural consequence of excessive regulations. You cannot have one without the other.

    These kinds of subsidies are common all over the world, especially for industries considered vital.

    On the other hand, considering fact that greater part of the price of fuel is cost of tax then this subsidy does not look so innocent anymore.

    US is as powerful and rich as it is , precisely because it does not impose artificial limits ( or imposes less of them) on how much individual can earn as long as he/she operates within limits set by our law.
    How do you determine how much is enough ?
    Who is to set that limit ? You ?

    No, it is not enough to demand equality and fair share for everyone.

    You know, I was not born here, I came to this country (from Europe) about 10 years ago and I can tell you that what you call misery is a joke.

    Windows95 design team had clear objectives:
    1. We need OS with protected memory etc ...
    2. It MUST run 99% apps from Win 3.11

    The only way to accomplish that was to retain tons of old 16 bit code and wrap it around with 32 bit stuff. Windows 95 is actually one of the most amazing pieces of software ever written.
    Consider the fact that average RH has problem running most apps written mere year before that particular version was released.

    That is genuinely MS fault. They had communication problems between NT and Win 95 teams.

    These are not layers.
    MS has tendency of introducing new calls like CreateWindowEx etc ...
    It makes system DLLs bigger but does not affect performance like layering system does.

    That does not make much sense.
    Any application is hard to automate unless you try to do it using methods provided by the developers of that application.
    MS apps ( or should we say Windows apps) have amazing automation capabilities far beyond simple in/out available on Unix.
    You just don't know enough about them.
