Which games require that much processing power purely for game logic? Can you give an actual example? Also, most game AIs are not trying to play at the best possible level, but to simulate a weak human to play against.
I've wrote "many people", not "all people". Specifically, I am talking all the people running wasteful browsers and applications written in slow languages. You are absolutely correct that for transcoding, and for many other heavy backend processing jobs, the cpu is utilized efficently.
Gradually, the right winger "capitalist" republicans of the US are taking power from the states and the corporates and concentrating it under state control. Too bad they're still against welfare though.
Try it some time. Very soon you start to hunt around for things to do. Shortly after that you begin to find ways of rationalising your time-wasting as productive
So I will become a php developer? A lawyer? A gender studies professor? An economist?
Also, during my periods of unemployment I usually either partied a lot or learned new skills (kernel programming, ocaml, story writing, performance). I find these skills productive for me, and this is more important than being productive to a rich man.
Not super complex? Tell me, how would you call using the same interface to access both memory variables and disk variables? Or maybe we should talk about the lack of schema?
Being unable to easily reason about how your program will act is exactly what makes MUMPS (or Javascript) complex. I do think that MUMPS decision to mix memory access and disk access in the same interface is one of the worst decisions ever made in programming language design.
You are not paid because you are worth anything as humab beings. You are paid to act as code/design repairing machine who just happen to be human. Do what you are paid and say nothing, these rights are only reserved to others who are superior to you.

The only reason why many people need that 4Ghz to begin with is because of how bloated software has become.
No, it is the balance between business and regulation that keeps economy going.
An internet run by academia probably looks better than the internet we have now.
Some people have to settle for fake friends. Also, don't forget, sometimes you need good clothes to score a job or a pussy/dick.
Isn't software made in the US a "trojan horse"?

Everyone has something to hide.
In thhe past people used to be paid for calculating things by hand. The term computer used to refer to a job, not only to a machine.
we need some commercial entities standing behind these things
Some of these javascript frameworks do have commercial entities standing behind them. I am not sure how much it helps.
And then they tell me that capitalism is not a religion.
In other words, useless jobs (or to be more accurate, "growth") are to captialism like prayer is to christianity.

What is so bad about doing nothing? Many of our jobs are artificial anyway.

Actually, this may still end up useful. One of the problems in the whole democratic vs republic thing is that both sides barely understand each other.
Really? do you miss flash? java applets?
Considering that your generation created things like MUMPS I really dont think you have the right to complain about millennials.
How would this account for bailed out bankers or for weapon industry employers?
Also, dont forget that corporations act like a cartel, fucking up the consumers in complete unison.

You can just progrran them to orgasm from flippin burgers, that way they will enjoy it even though it is tedious - just like we enjoy procreating.
