Why are the passwords stored in the browser? If we need some on-PC storage it should be a completely separate service which browser could kindly ask for a password. Do the job right and do it just once.
That's not correct. The whole Netscape codebase had been dumped back in 1998. Then a new rendering engine called Gecko has been developed, together with several other pieces of infrastructure - this has become the foundation of Mozilla. Firefox is just an implementation of a browser using XUL - as opposed to Mozilla Suite or Seamonkey, which are implementation of Netscape's app design in XUL. Seamonkey and Firefox share a lot of code, both are based on current Gecko, so the difference is really bundling several applications together or not.
Well, Jabber is a solution for many tasks. For me, it's gathering RSS feeds. There is an RSS transport on a particular server, it gets the feeds about hourly and sends the new messages to me. If everyone would move their RSS needs to Jabber (and also help to develop the transports!), the bandwidth problem will cease to exist!

If you are using Linux & Mozilla, then just check out the mplayerplug-in, which doesn't only play everything you want, but also allows you (in the latest CVS version, which is quite stable) to save the file by simple right-click!

So, let's see.....
The plan is, as I've understood it, to make a computer do some computations (wow, a new concept!!!) for every single outgoing mail. Thus, everyone has to upgrade their hardware/software. But it would be not enough, because spammers definitely do not use Outlook to send the spam out! They patch sendmail, create some other mass-mailing software etc. They would NOT use any software that uses this payment method.
So, to be efficient, this system needs some sort of conntrol, like for instance a big server which contains all the "payment" information (a simple hash MsgID->Person would do), and also checks, whether every mail has been "paid" for.
Then, there are two questions: 1. Who is going to control this big machine? Answer: FBI or Microsoft. Probably both.
2. How difficult would it be to include some tests on political opinions, general radicalism etc., so that the mails can get sorted out and checked by someone close to the government. Answer: Not at all, it will be the first feature they build in.
So, at last Microsoft will be able to control the whole e-mail traffic in the whole world! Yippie!! Isn't this what we all have been waiting for?
Does anybody know ANY portable player that is able to show UTF-8 encoded filenames and/or tags? It is just a PITA to latinize many russian songs (yes, my system is Debian Linux Sid with an UTF-8 locale and yes, I have already written a script to automatize latinizing filenames).
If you're running a workstation, this means that X won't bog down as much when you're running those huge simulations, compiles, etc.
You mean I won't need to wait while my diskette is being formatted neither? Wow, at last.... Whoops, wrong OS.

So now we are not afraid of Moonlight anymore?
I guess you forgot to include the one he actually meant :)

That's great news! I guess I'll start putting money aside :)
