I also run the spam filters for my employer. I use spamassassin and mailsweeper with a ton of custom rules. It is my responsibility to be the human interface that examines the caught spam spool every day and delete or forward the emails. If people subscribe to a mailing list that has advertising link or other spam triggers I let tell them they need to mail the list admin and tell them to stop. Otherwise it sucks to be them. I have no tolerance anymore. Do not let your mail have the characteristics of spam if you want it to reach people. wtf.

It fools most users into thinking that there are protections on thier data due to the fact that the policy exists, or if the user bothers to read it the goal is make it worded such that the lack of protections is concealed.

If our corporations and governments act like criminals we are going to have to live like criminals in an armed camp of minimal human rights to prevent incidents like planes crashing into the world trade center.

WTF? Why would an employer not have complete control over what you do with THEIR computers while they are PAYing you to WORK for them. This is not play time, you are not at home. You have a computer at work so that you may use it for specific functions to accomplish your job. They are not a common carrier, they are not your home internet provider, they do not host your default mode of private communication. An employer's computers and network connectivity exists for one purpose. To DO WORK. Isn't his company charging money for the ebook decryption tool. So if this is not ok with adobe doesn't this seem wrong. If he was giving it away that would be fine. If he was providing information or instructions on how to do it, it would be fine. Isn't charging for access to someone else's product kinda uncool?
