What good does that do for us, the desktop user.
Seems like Be tried doing that and failed, and the desktop version suffered most.
It's things like this that make me shy away from even getting on a computer at school. I'm not sure what they want me to do or not. I've been accused of so many things I didn't do, I just stay away from it at school and get on at home.
Even when I'm fixing something a teacher requested, I'll get questioned by the board-wide administrator about things I've done at the computer.
So, the school goes on with their computer problems and I don't get accused of anything.
Speech synthesis is all well and good, but there will always still be some human writing what that character says.
I'm pretty sure there will always have to be some human element in anything like this. Sorry.
All the Windows users all start your pirated versions of Adobe software at midnight.
Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. all glowing in support of Sklyarov.
No legal versions, though... I think we can deal without those 5.

But, Microsoft employees are making an OS for a living... and they are not as fun to hang out with.
Stanford's servers can't handle a Sunday morning Slashdot crowd... that's really sad. What does all that tuition money pay for? :)
