Since when do movie companys rights extend beyond the constititional right's of Americans? They want to send movies to us. I didn't ask for it, so I should not have to have a locked down pc. This whole law makes no sense to me. They can not tell us how to use our equipment as long as we are not doing anything illegal!:)
I bet he does. I don't get his posts. I don't think he makes much sense. What I am able to read out of it is, he doesn't like linux bc it won't run his windows programs..is that what you get?
You are a moron. Windows is Windows and Linux is Linux..if Linux were to do everything for that windows can why have it? Linux is an alternative OS, not an emulator. I thought I made that clear in my first response, but I guess you didn't catch it. Anyway, you can continue to use windows or linux..I don't care, just don't claim that it will be unsuccessful because it won't run windows apps. I use Linux all day every day..all 5 of my systems are linux...It is successful for me..
Another genius...think about it...If they say that Linux has more holes than Windows, do they need to say Windows is more secure? No... It speaks for itself...
Linux by default includes:
A mailserver
an ftp serer
a telnet server
a web server
a database server
etc....
Windows by default include:
A store receipt
IIS maybe..
ummm
okay so what are they basing their study on? The same system setups? Are they comparing postfix with exchange server or sendmail with exchange server? Mysql with MSSQL or MySQl with Oracle? I don't understand this study, nor do I believe it. I think this study is biased and fixed. It is funny that this study is released as M$ releases the W2K rollup package to fix the broken/hackable files.
What is a near miss? Is it just me or does that make no sense at all. A near miss would mean it actually hit, "it nearly missed". I think it should be called "a near hit".
The patch does no good because it has already happened. If they would release updates that catch the hole before it is exploited then that would be a lot better than fixing it after it is already a known problem.
My company did the same thing. They created 2 domains. 1 was a production domain and 1 was a testing domain. If you are a developer you get the testing domain and admin rights on your computer to allow you to test/install various software applications. They do however charge more for the computer for the dept. rebills. I hope your company plans on doing the same thing.

Yes..define it for me please.
What Is the problem. Your low IQ or the fact that you want to run linux, but can't figure it out?
Linux is not a "Windows Emulator" so when you are able to learn that...discuss.
LOL this moron thinks we would actually click on the link..what a foo foo
Yes, but that is for M$ Exchange 2000 correct?
I do play 'Video Games' on my linux desktop. I have successfuly installed Counter-Strike and get around 65fps.

Maybe they saw your code and didn't want it there...Bet ya didn't think of that one did ya!!!
You don't get it do you ? Slashdot is first and foremost a 'Troll' site, much like adequacy [adequacy.org]. You spelled 'propagating' incorrectly too.
You don't get it either. You have an extra space between your "you and the ?"...loser
Lay off no one is perfect.
Hopefully they are more creative in their work than their web site.
And don't forget that this will void any warranty you have :)

Okay lets break it down:

A mailserver
an ftp serer
a telnet server
a web server
a database server
etc....
Windows by default include:
A store receipt
IIS maybe..

Are you stupid?
Why not use Emacs? It can have color coding and is completely customizable...
Nothing gets past us eh? :) I have that cd in my cube.
What is a near miss? Is it just me or does that make no sense at all. A near miss would mean it actually hit, "it nearly missed". I think it should be called "a near hit".
Anyway...
It appears they have been /.'ed I can not get to their site. Can anyone else?
I'm going to sit around all day and play counter-strike.

Anyone at work today?????
