The US military is deployed in more than 150 countries around the world. Does this mean practically no country in the world is allowed to compare the size of their government to the US?
If so, that seems like a mighty unpatriotic use of American tax dollars. Go deeper into debt so Japan and Canada and Italy don't need to spend a lot on armies?

All they can do is either take money from our pockets and give it to someone else, or inflate the currency. The former doesn't result in a net increase in spending unless you believe people would put the trillions collected from bonds or taxes under their mattress, and the latter doesn't result in an increase in spending unless you ignore that existing investments and savings accounts have their value drained from them in the process.
Canada has a federal government that spends half the % of GDP compared to the US (so proportional to the economy the government is half as big), but they're weathering the recession much better than the US. This runs directly counter to the prediction made by the "The government spending is good for us" theory.
Then the truth of the matter is obvious: They need to raise taxes if they've cut everything, or they need to amend their constitution to cut more. It's only a two number equation. This isn't hard stuff.
Remember, the RIAA says stealing is wrong, but it's ok to steal your paid-for works from you, and it's ok to steal from the public domain by lobbying for perpetual copyright.

Trapped in poverty, blinded by racism as to their true options, many take up the only career path apparently open to them: Crime. Hence more criminals, hence more prison population.
The problem with racial profiling isn't when the people are actually criminals, it's when they're not. It's unjust for innocent people to be subjected to extra scrutiny just because people like them are acting badly.
Language is defined by the people who speak it. The dictionary in 1600 had words like "fyre" in it, but today those words don't exist because nobody spells fire that way therefore that word doesn't exist. There are words that exist today that never existed in the past, and words that existed in the past that don't exist today. The language is defined by the people who speak it.
If the majority considers "transparent" to mean "Capable of transmitting light so that objects or images can be seen as if there were no intervening material", then that's what it means. If it blocks everything but some invisible ultraviolet rays, then it's not transparent.
Now "translucent", as defined as "Transmitting light but causing sufficient diffusion to prevent perception of distinct images", that I'd give you, given the image.
Nothing in the article makes it sound very transparent in the way we'd imagine transparency. Extreme ultra-violet? Maybe, but it sure looks from the image like that transparent aluminium is at best translucent for visible spectrum light -- look at how much that laser is diffused.

If I look for a woman with large breasts, it's because large, firm breasts indicate youth which indicates good child-bearing ability, for example. I don't need a woman who makes me feel safe. I don't need a woman with friends who can protect me. I don't need a woman with a powerful frame who can direct social interactions.
By contrast, women are more attracted to attributes that indicate a man's ability to protect, as well as the indications that a man won't be a threat to them: Belonging to a 'tribe' she wants to be part of; Strength(Not physical strength necessarily); Adaptability; Social value; Goals; and Emotional strength. They do want to feel safe. They do want you to have friends who can protect her too(and for you to be able to lead your friends), and a powerful frame to direct people around you.
I'm a great example: My genetic looks haven't changed since I was a kid, but I never even had a girlfriend back in High School, because I was a nerdy (But pretending I wasn't) loner with no apparent skills who was constantly struggling to adapt and was constantly dealing with self-worth and other issues. Today, having become more adaptable with wisdom, having achieved some of my goals and built social values, which helped cement my self-worth and build emotional strength, and having finally learned to build social networks, I'm a highly attractive man to many women.
