I concur. I'm a Sr, SysAdmin and I've been in the Director's Chair on a couple occasions. I've made purchasing decsions and/or reccomendations for both smaller (say 60 people) and larger (3000 people) shops, and based those decision on broad OS support for devices. Why pigenhole my clients to one (or even two) OSes and prevent them from having the most flexibility in terms of what OS that can choose to use? Also, in my experience, those devices which offer broad OS support are generally better supported overall (less bugs, quirks, etc.). It's all about standards!
For example, consider the set of all integers. Which is simpler, the whole set or just one number? Naively, you might think that a single number is simpler, but the entire set can be generated by quite a trivial computer program, whereas a single number can be hugely long. Therefore, the whole set is actually simpler.
OK, I'm just a simple sysadmin who can make trivial Bash and Perl scripts, and hasn't seen assembly since the 6502, but can someone who is a 1337 hax0r programmer tell me why this would be true? Thanks!
I just don't understand. I think it may be part of the War on Drugs hysteria. Why not work on getting rid of the cancerous agents in the cigarette and keeping the nicotine? I seem to remember that a while back there was some sort of "tobacco-free" cigarette available (used glass beads, or something?). That's the path we should be on - not getting Nicotine out, but getting the cancer-causing agents out. Nicotine, to my knowledge, does NOT cause cancer. It's the tobacco + 200 other chemicals that cause cancer and other smoking-related ailments.
So, let people become addicted to Nicotine - what harm does it do by itself? Just makes people a little less nervous and a bit more focused.

Well, let's hope it's "I remmeber using Windows..."

I knew my Ant would work faster in space! She's got a few extra pounds, but I knew if pesky gravity were out of the way, she could just dig, dig, dig!
Oh, damn. My Ant just called me for dinner. Maybe I should read the articles first before posting.... Whups.
Just looked, and I do, too. Thanks, Slashdot People! I could have had roasted feet without the heads up!
