  1. Fools.. on Quake 4 Announced · · Score: 1, Informative

I can't believe how ignorant some of you are. If you had read closely, you would probably know by now that Quake 4 is to be developped by Raven Software and merely supervised by id Software, pretty much like Return to Castle Wolfenstein was done with whatever company is developping it.

Raven Software is not only a great games company, but it's also very good at making single player games. Remember Hexen, Soldier of Fortune, Elite Force? Raven are probably one of the best companies out there, and I'm pretty sure Quake 4 will rock, seeing as with id's (well, mostly johnc's) talent in making impressive game engines, and Raven's talent in making impressive and well-designed single player games. Q4 will most certainly be much more than just a 3d card benchmark, or an engine demo.

The fools here who hastily read the announcement and only bothered to think "Oh yay another benchmark, id suxxx ass l0l" should be shot. id Software is good at making engines, as some of you pointed out, but not very good at making single player games. They seem to have realised this, and both Wolfenstein and Quake 4 are a good example of this. The new Doom project is a big question mark at the moment, but Quake 4 (and Wolfenstein, for that matter), certainly aren't.

Before telling me to grow up, you should click the damn link and find out for yourself you fool. Of course it looks like a legitimate link, that's what I thought when I clicked it at first. Oh and please ignore the other posts that complain about this so-called 'mirror', they must all be trolls. If you're the retard who posted this, then you can go screw yourself instead of calling legitimate readers trolls.

  4. Geeks on Is This How to Carry Your Gadgets? · · Score: 1

The true geek usually never gets out of his natural habitat. Whenever I do have to get out however, I like to carry as little electronic equipment as I can, mainly because I mostly go out at night. Hell, most of us know it's better to have as little cash as we can on ourselves. As far as I'm concerned, the same goes for gadgets.

Anyway, I usually wear this big black waterproof leathery kind of jacket with a whole bunch of large pockets on the sides that are just big enough to fit the odd CD or two. The problem comes in the summer though, when it gets warm and I just have to switch to the pockets in my shorts.

A solution to this would be a nice cowboy belt with holsters for your PDA/mp3 player, room for the odd pen, and even extra rechargeable batteries. Imagine, if all devices start using the same power protocol, you could just carry one large cell that you'd plug on to the mains when sleeping. Your devices would then be able to take in energy as you go along the day, which would mean you could basically last a whole day listening to music and working on a backlit PDA without worrying too much about how much power you have left.

For the rest of the year, the same concept could still be available with a single cable going from your nice heavy belt to the jacket, with a whole bunch of inside pockets for all your stuff... That would rule =D
