Actually, I think its a bug in/.'s comment posting code... I put a lot of ambersand gt semicolons and ambersand lt semicolons to replace the less thans and greater thans in my html example, and for some reason, it produced an extra semicolon at the end of that line. Don't know why. If I removed a semicolon, it would screwed up encoded character.
Hah! I've got something that will crash IE also..

Ran into this while doing some website design, simplified the problem down to this. Note, the green background is just so you can see the cell a little better.
You have to mouseover the table cells and you will get a gpf. Should work on IE 5.5 and 6.0.
note: there is a bogus semicolon after the/td when I preview this post... it shouldn't be there, but I can't get rid of it.

yeah, I've been working on a marble cube case (1ftx1ftx1ft) for about 9 months.
Basically, I procrastinate a lot:)
Its pretty easy to work marble with a dremmel and a cutting disk. (as long as you cool the bit down with water) Then you just have to re-polish the cut edges.
I had been toying with the idea of using a local precision water jet cutting company to cut the form, but I think I'll do the first one by hand.
Sig Sauers have plenty of safety features, just not a 'safety'.
They have a hammer de-cocking lever (very nice), and a firing pin locking mechanism (so if the gun is dropped on the hammer, the firing pin won't move).
I don't understand your POV. If the gun is locked up, (my non-existant) children aren't going to be messing with it. If they've got their little untrained hands on a gun, its a little too late to hope for a traditional gun 'safety' to save the day.
However, I'm not alone in my 'macho' attitude, whatever that means. Lots of LEO and federal agencies prefer Sigs. They are one of the best brands out there.
Also, I do have a loaded handgun near my bed. However, its in a quick access gun safe, just big enough for one handgun.
I used granitecanyon for awhile for my personal domain, but it really turned out to be more trouble than it was worth.
I'm not faulting the guys that run it, but they don't have the hardware or telecom to make the service stable. Every time USWest or whoever screws one of their lines over, they are down for quite a while.
Dude,
I've got a kickass geekhouse in north orem. (11Mbs microwave link, 1" conduit in the walls with cat5 and a 100Mbs hub, DSS tv) Only problem... its mostly full. I've got 1 bedroom left, but its being used as a office by 2 of my roommates.
I checked out the NOW thing, and it looks good, but the next big step I see is loosening the centralized authority and control aspects of something like NOW, and allowing machines to join and detach at will.
As NOW stands (as I understand it), all the machines in the cluster are fully trusted.
For a looser version, each node will have to have some kind of trust level.
A concept like this would require lots of changes to a unix type enviornment.
For instance, the idea of a ps showing all the processes is going to have to change. You don't want a non-trusted node to get knowledge it shouldn't have.
This type of env will make system security a much more tricky thing, but, hey, what the hell.
I had lots of other ideas, but they seem to be running away from me right now, so maybe more later.
There used to be a project called Oceania by some rabid libertarians to build a platform in the Gulf of Mexico and declare it an independent country. Its a shame it never got going.
Of course, the founders weren't thinking of a data haven, but a 'meat' haven, ie. a place where people could live and work, most likely in computer related jobs.
The company I work for used to have the word 'dot' in its name (dotOne.com) before getting acquired.
First of all, if the caps are missing, most people read it as do tone, but it does present some fun with punctuation.
One box was named dot. Its full name was dot.dotone.com, ie. dot-dot-dot-one-dot-com. Its successor was know as cubed (ie. dot^3).
A box that I was responsible for naming was called slash (before I found out about slashdot.org... I swear!) Its full name read as slash-dot-dot-one-dot-com. Tee hee.
Doh! My bad. IE still pukes with an end table tag though.

Its pretty nice, but I'm wishing I had torn down a few more walls :)
All the conduit goes down to my utility room (where the washing machine, heater, etc are) and I've got a 110 block and my 10/100 switch there.
I believe the other operating system that Shep was indoctrinated by was Mac.
I just got done reading the whole thing. Wow.
There were some humorous comments. I liked the choice of movies, including watching Dr. Strangelove with the Russians there.
These were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 990... most exposures (at least the good ones) were at least 10 seconds.

The 13th and the 24th pictures are pretty good.

Don't be a moron. The guns don't have built in safeties, but I keep them locked up (ie. gun safe)
On my dual 933 VP6, I get 1 min, 10 second compiles with:
make "MAKE=make -j3" -j3 bzImage
Be sure you've got plenty of memory (I've got 768M)
OT: All my handguns don't have safeties, and I like it that way! (sigsauers)

Plus, they're hosting like a billion domains.

I love _Earth_, especially the section about how human babies are the worst thing ever invented.

I don't think its been updated for quite a while.
I'm planning on getting a 3Com ISDN Lan Router as soon as USWest pulls their head out and gets my line installed.
Does anyone know if the 3Com has many options for inbound connections? Ie. setting up a mail server inside and having port 25 fwd to the inside box?
How about UDP?

Intentionally confusing names can be fun.
