You're more than welcome to feel that way but I take very little notice of ill thought out comments like that. Please either offer a decent contribution to the conversation or get back to trolling somewhere else. I'm happy to admit I have extremely liberal views and that I have very little time for people who don't use logic and common sense. You can call me a bigot for saying that but you're clearly misunderstanding the word.

Yeah a great economy is all that matters.... oh wait I actually care about free speech, reduction in gun crime, better foreign relations, less hate crime, better education, less corruption, better healthcare and a vast swathe of other things that I guess you don't feel are needed.

How is that irrational... You can be anti-abortion without being religious but it's a rare combination to be pro-science and anti-abortion. He did not mention religion directly but it can be likely inferred. Yes I will accept I'm strongly against religious opinions being shared but I view this as rational and akin to being against the sharing of infectious diseases. My opinion that he shouldn't vote in solely my opinion and I don't think it's unreasonable for me to express it. I also don't think climate change deniers should be allowed to vote either... is that irrational? You've mistaken me expressing my opinion as some statement of fact.

This is the typical anti-science hysteria which there seems to be a huge problem with lately. Firstly, please try to understand things before you make a comment as it's just likely to mislead other people if you appear to know what you're talking about even if what you've said is clearly baseless. Secondly, please keep religious to yourself. And finally, please please don't vote or put yourself in any position of responsibility as you don't seem qualified.

By the sounds of your degree, it must have been very broad and I can't imagine it can have contained much depth in any of those areas you've mentioned. My advice at this point in your career would be to become an expert in whichever field interests you most. It's always possible to jump between professions but you won't see your pay go up much until you've become an expert in at least one area and can prove yourself.

I'm just pointing out that this story is only even remotely news if you have the naive and false view of Apple which I'm alluding to above. I think you've missed the point slightly.

That's my exact point! I'm not trying to "diss" them in any way. I'm just pointing out they have a naive image to some as something wholly different but it's an image they definitely no longer deserve.

Whilst Apple and Apple fans love to portray themselves/the company as doing the right thing it's been very clear for a long time they are solely chasing after their bottom line. Their products have for years now been designed to please the largest share of the market with the least possible work or expenditure. The fact they are willing to do anything needed to please a government which could potentially block off a large portion of their market is to be expected.

I think you need to catch up with the modern world. The cancerous leftism you speak of has long been shown as about the only way to create a successful with all members benefitting. The Silicone Valley nonsense has already proven itself to be the future. Energy is very obviously going to be in renewables and guess who's pumping the most money into advancing that. Manufacturing is already being heavily automated so jobs which require very little skill and are primarily manual labour aren't going to exist very soon, so where it's located will hardly matter. I understand your thinking but I know with more up to date information and a better education on the subject you will hopefully change your opinion.

I'm aware many slashdotters have slightly less than positive feelings for this poster but why would anyone link to an article in The Sun.... That's nearly as bad as posting something from Fox News or CNN. It's a terrible source of news and they don't deserve any additional revenue from their articles being posted elsewhere. They are the sort of paper who supports xenophobic views of those like Trump and Farage.
