Oh, come on. Who wouldn't want to visit Albuquerque? People there are so friendly, they'll gladly shave your back for a nickel!
A "culture and attitude of constant reinforcement of already-held ideas"? Get the hell out of here, man! That's not the kind of thing we talk about here on Slashdot!
Are you crazy? Supporting dictatorial regimes whos lax or non-existant human rights laws guarantees cheap goods to western consumers. That's just nuts. Are you saying that you'd really rather pay a few dollars more for a t-shirt just so that the person who made it can earn a decent wage and help their families get out of poverty? Crazy person. Don't you know that the only important thing is for our decent, kindhearted, concerned western corporations is to make money?
This is offtopic, but if churches become obsolete, I'd like to buy a cathedral and turn it into a cool geek house.
I'd turn the main body into a ball hockey court, turn the balconey at the back into a bedroom loft, and replace the altar with a dining table. Confessionals would be remodelled into convenient liquer cabinets and expresso machine alcoves. I'd keep the organ, though, because those are just damn cool. The front balconey would be computer room, and I'd put an indoor, in-ground pool in the basement.
Science Boy Bobby: It's time to learn about crack, boys and girls!
Science Girl Gena: Crack is a substance that is issued with moderator points. All smart moderators get rid of the crack, but a few decide to smoke it all at once.
Science Boy Bobby: Now, let's take a look at the parent post.
Science Girl Gena: Oh my! It currently seems to be moderated as (4, Offtopic).
Science Boy Bobby: That's right. But, it's talking about listening to sports broadcasts, comparing methods of transmission.
Science Girl Gena: And the article is about what, Science Boy Bobby?
Science Boy Bobby: Why, listening to sports broadcasts using various technological means, Science Girl Gena!
Science Girl Gena: So, why would it be considered Offtopic?
Science Boy Bobby: Because the moderator was smoking crack at the time.
Science Girl Gena: Hmm. That leads me to the conclusion that the last moderator of that post was a complete fucking retard, and a crackhead to boot!
Science Boy Bobby: How astute, Science Girl Gena!
Science Girl Gena and Science Boy Bobby: Until next time! Bye-bye!
It's just like a monopoly, except that many different parties are collaborating. Put it this way: Microsoft is a monopoly, the RIAA and MPAA are cartels.
What? Linux can't be upgraded without reinstalling? You're just plain wrong. Not only that, but Linux rarely even needs a reboot to install software. Let's see, there's the kernel, and... umm... well, just the kernel. I've never used any of the *BSDs, either, but I imagine they're much the same way.
As opposed to, oh say, "windows must now be rebooted for these changes to take effect".
http://www.strusel007.de/linux/xawtv/ is the XawTV homepage. It's a nice, basic X application, updated quite often nowadays. 3.41 was just released a few hours ago.
WinTV Go cards (PCI, BTW) works by using the BTTV kernel driver. I really don't recommend the WinTV Go, though. It's one of Hauppage's oldest models and doesn't have much in the way of features, not even stereo sound, and has a 7?? x 5?? maximum resolution; I don't recall exactly what it is. On the other hand, it's dirt cheap compared to a recent stuff. I got mine for $60 canadian.
I don't know anything about how well newer cards are supported. The BTTV driver supports all cards using the BT8x8 chipset, though. Sorry for the rambling reply.
"By Cron, I want the tooth!"
"You can't handle the tooth!"

No, I'm actually Canada. But thanks for asking.
Damned humourless moderators. Grow a sense of humour.

Now you'll have tonnes of replies, debating which language is the dark side.
I vote Perl, the language of those who enjoying inflicting pain and horror on others. Which is weird, because absolutely I love Perl.
Don't involve me in your sick mind games, Pudge. Parrot?!
Life really is a series of down endings. Dante was a wise, if depressing, man.
That's because 2040 is too horrifically bad even for lonely doujinshi artists to bother with.
Try looking in windows Tranformers theme packs. I used to have one with perfect transforming sounds. I wish I remembered the exact URL...
"Contact". But it was unintentional.

I went back and read that comment, imagining Comic Book Guy's voice saying it. Everyone else should try it, too. :)
She was the first programmer, period. At least, according to all my CS textbooks.
Hmm. How true.
I believe I speak for many casual english speakers when I say this: Fuck proper grammer.
Interesting sig, considering the subject matter. :)
3D porn? Isn't that kind of like, umm, real sex?

I found Onflow too, also due to ZoneAlarm. Does anyone know exactly what Onflow does?

What TV card do you use? I've got a Hauppage WinTV Go, and XawTV loves it.
