For God's sake it's a kid! Of course he's going to make fun of his peers, especially if they're making fun of him. Would we be more happy if he took a shotgun and emptied the school? At least he didn't libel them.

I remember in high school some kids put out a underground newsletter that basically blasted one of the teachers at the school (they didn't agree with his politics). I was in that teachers class and these were his exact words when I asked if it was libel or slander. "Yes, but I don't care. They're just kids screwing around."

That response has been a good guide for me. Think about it for a minute. Essentially this whole thing is someone, somewhere going "They said mean things about me. I'm going to make that poopyhead pay!" Get some respect for yourself and then you won't give a rats ass if someone is saying something about you.

If it's true why do you get offended at the messenger? If it's not why do you care?

As for the small children, some of these people are taking this money and doing whatever they wish with it and damn the children. Maybe it's different where you are but it certainly that way here.

Just like the moon landings cost the American public damn little (I don't have the figures here at hand unfortunatly) but people were convinced it was a waste of money. Why? The news media. Bastards. They can hardly ever tell a story with any meat behind it and when they do they botch it. Ex: Clinton got head from a intern! Hang him! Possibly sold secrets to China? Well here's a couple solutions for some of those problems. Set up a large greenhouse and grow your own food. Set up solar panels and wind rotors to get your own power (with some backups of course). There are all kinds of companies supplying this kind of equipment for not that much of a investment. Orbital recorded a entire album using solar power to run all the equipment. As for water and storms drilling rigs today support all kind of computer for running things. I'm sure they have some kind of way to deal with the problems. It would just be a matter of finding out (any offshore oil drillers in the audience care to speak up).

And if your worried about being attacked or harrassed you can always broadcast what is happening to you over your connection (unless it gets taken out). You could do the same with a ship. Bruce Sterling talked about a ship with these kinds of ideas (free food and energy, etc) in a short story called Green Hills of Brunie (I know I misspelled that). Get enough bandwith and you could also be looking at setting up a service like the Crypt in Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon (you ever notice how some of the great ideas are covered in so called "escapist" [Sci-Fi] writing?).

I hope that someone does put this into effect. And I'm hoping I can get a job with them.

Doesn't really count unless you organize a large group of people to vote like you do (special interest groups). How about something simple like build a shed on property you own with your tools, made with wood you bought (or made if you can do that)? Sure you can do that. Assuming you have the permission of the locality you live in. Or you could just build it and have the locality order you to tear it down and get permission first.

Let's be honest now and drop the sarcasm. In America we are free... to a point. We live under a mass of laws that have been enacted over time to appease one group or another. Some of this is good... some of it is bad or just down right unenforceable, in and of themselves.
