I'm typing this right now on exactly that setup in Ottawa. MAC level over ADSL (Flexcap2) to ATM all the way to montreal and then finally into IP country.
It's pretty spooky, the tech support guy(all ADSL users get to know a tech support guy) in Toronto(I believe) can read me my firewalls MAC address..
It's actually very well maintained really. As it goes more mainstream with the Nortel 1 Meg and Sympatico Highspeed or whatever, it's been slipping however. Used to be you could make a call and have a guy logged into the router at the other end fixing you up. Now the voice on the phone can't even ping you.
I wish I could get my hands on one of their S/KEYS.
only cdr will make me happy.

I know it wouldn't have too much appeal for anyone but us coaster ninjas, but a generic $100 discman with a mp3 decoder welded inside is what I dream of.
128mb is just not enough to be really useful. One album, blah, that's not even enough for a short plane ride. Burn myself 600+ megs on a nice disposable cdr and we're talking..
It's too bad cd burners are still too flakey and expensive for most..

A linux con 3 blocks from my apartment, how handy..
:)
I can suggest drinking holes, paint ball fields and firing ranges as needed..
I wish I had an boss to scam for the entrance fee, but I'm sure crashing it won't be too hard..
Do it Rob.
Use the Slashdot effect to hype yourself and we could all clean up..
