The manual is well written but as a newbie who had little trouble setting up RedHat 5.1 and 6.0 I must say I found the manual almost unuseable. It frequently has screens and menus in the manual that are not found in the install process and it assumes a knowledge of Linux that I don't possess. Also I might point out the hardware database is much smaller than that in RedHat 6. I had problems getting X running on my old monitor.
I got 6.1 at LinuxMall for $45, incl shipping. An Incredible bargain. The manual tho left me hanging at several points (ie. they start you off with the 30 minute install--but don't tell you it's really a check list and you'll need more study for the first install) And I had a pain getting my monitor (14" HP SVGA) configured. RedHat 6 had previously recognized it with no problem.
