  1. Piracy and Theft on Director Attacks MPAA Piracy Claims · · Score: 1

I have never made alot of money. They don't pay the military very well. So I used to pirate alot of games. I just didn't have the money to buy them I would have I did. What did happen though, is even though the pirated copies of the games are a bit buggy it gave me a good I idea what the gameplay was like and from there I would save up and get the game I liked most. I think in regards to software the "try before you buy" mentality is esssential because most of the stuff out there is crap. and most stores won't let you return opened software. So anyone could easily sick big money into just finding what they need. But what do I know I am just a dumb Jar-Head.

  2. One Hell of a Change Log on Slackware 8.1 rc1 Announced · · Score: 2, Interesting

After I downloaded Slack 8.0 Last Year some time. I was always kinda curious how long before the next release. and After A year goes by and the forum closes down I start thinking maybe they are having a problem . Maybe slack is going away. Maybe the maintainer is just to busy to keep up slack. Well after reading the changelog that guy has been busy allright maintaining and making slack better more power to ya I should have sent my 20 buck to slack instead of mandrake. Don't forget to follow the adventures of slack-girl

  3. Phear the Penguin on Slackware 8.1 rc1 Announced · · Score: 1

Mandrake was the first linux distro I ever used but I keep finding myself always falling back on slack. I don't need graphical installs or wizards for everything I just need a fast and trim distro. and slack is that distro.

  4. Military vs. Government on E3: Epic, US Army Develop Games as Recruitment Tool · · Score: 1

As a former Marine I've noticed a few things. Most of the time when people criticize the Military they really mean to criticize the Government. We in the Military don't decide who to attack and we only get to decide there where when and how on a very limited scale. That is stuff decided by the President and staff. The reason most of us even enlisted is to serve our country. Not serve the Republican not serve the Democrats but serve the American People and their intrests. YOU, the American, the voter decide what we go off and fight and die for. What I am trying to say is when the Military has to go and kill people(because that is really our primary function, bockades and humanitarian stuff aside) and you don't like that we are there then you better let the right people know you are pissed off about it because some Private has no control over the sitituation other kill or be killed.

I am not sure if I remeber correctly but I beleive it it was in a Steven Hawkings book. They had talked about using the 8 natural states of an electron to hold one byte of information. I found this link but it isn't exactly what I am talking about.http://www.eetimes.com/story/OEG20000831S001 9

I am not try ing to flame anyone here...well maybe I am. All of you people who make outrageous claims about linux bringing your computer down for a week or taking 5 hours to configure a modem are just strait dumb. I don't know that much about computers or linux and i had it fully functional cdrw, webcam, internet connection, flash and java in 2 hours . everything right out of a how-to or a search engine. You people must not try very hard in other aspects of your life either. your wives/girlfriends must not (censored) very often either. But whatever. S/F Cpl Laque
