What about appropriate version of tomcat? I'm hoping that since there is real current dev on that at the moment, that it should work when I try later this weekend.... but all the jakarta doc says apache 1.3...
Depends on how you use your linux... are you using a distro or doing it yourself. I have a dual boot windose and linux and have had a wide variety of success with printers and linux. For my experience, I have a HP DJ 932 C
1) doing my own slammin install - utter failure for setting up printer
2) using distro of RH, variety of levels from 5.2 ->, failure initially, then bare success (just ascii, no ghostscript)
3) newer distro, suse 7.1, pro, did it ALL for me, at point of install. Even can print in color. Tried again, post install, and the printer tool, IMHO was as easy as windose.
If anyone out there can scrape American Red Cross locations, I think that could be useful. Their site is clogged or down.
TIA

Which Laptop To Buy?

· Score: 1
The T20 from IBM comes with I think about three or four options, the default of which is the Lucent winmodem (ick!). At the office we ditched that and purchased the combo card which is an intel pro, part number 06P3801 from ibm. I have not done it myself, but there is supposed to be support for RH and the old Caldera distro. Not sure of price, cause we had corporate discounts...
If you like the T20, and the above mentioned part doesn't work, then don't spend your bucks on a new laptop when yours is decent, buy a USR, er I mean 3COM, or is that XIRCOM today(?) pmcia modem/network card: 3C3FEM556C
apx $140
Anyways, I believe 140-200 is much better than spending 1K+ to satisfy a modem problem.
Cheers.

Any one try it yet?
Well.... Feeling lucky? The Chicago CivicNet: here
It includes the Request for Qualifications section... like connecting over 1600 offices in the metro area.
For the curious, is there a must read list of the russian sf?
