    Last week my mom signed up for a gmail account. A few hours later she called me up. "I sent someone an e-mail about about my car and then there were all of these ads for my model of car? Why are they reading my e-mail; I don't like it."

    If someone feels uncomfortable with letting someone lean over their shoulders why they send an e-mail, they are going to feel even more uncomfortable letting them peer at their spreadsheet.

    As a writer over at The Register put it, Google fixes problem no one asked them to fix.

    Regardless of where his position comes from I'll have to take my hat off to Wozniak. Generally speaking, if someone owns stock in a company they would rather stab their own grandmother in the eye than give you an honest opinion about the companies's direction. He has my respect for being something other than a good stock holder/party member.

    3rd party candidates and write-in (yes, I said write-ins) are constantly thrown out over stuff like this. I'd love to see a little role-reversal on this subject.

    Looking at the CC notice at the bottom of the page (to Share -- to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work and to Remix -- to make derivative works), I don't see why you can't re-encode it in an open format and redistribute it so long as you give credit where credit is deserved.

    Sorry, by Snap I meant a setup free, network mounted drive. If I recall they are the company with a patent on such a device (could be wrong).

    This still leaves me scratching my head. Outside of streaming all content, how exactly does this address the storage issue.

    Since wireless on the Wii seems to work, is this supposed to be some kind of Snap server/router combo or is this one of those "ease" by way of giving the customer "choice" to increase "value" scenarios? If this is the latter, no thanks.

    I get that the portal is just a decal, the part that bugs me is when you have a portal that can view another portal.
    How many portals do you draw before you decide to simply put a little orange or blue blob in the center/side/where ever. Also when you are in a large area and you fire two opposing portals at a far end whose textures haven't been loaded yet, how do you keep the game from crashing (I've had the big room towards the end slow down to a crawl but never actually crash)?
