Last week my mom signed up for a gmail account. A few hours later she called me up. "I sent someone an e-mail about about my car and then there were all of these ads for my model of car? Why are they reading my e-mail; I don't like it."
If someone feels uncomfortable with letting someone lean over their shoulders why they send an e-mail, they are going to feel even more uncomfortable letting them peer at their spreadsheet.
As a writer over at The Register put it, Google fixes problem no one asked them to fix.
Regardless of where his position comes from I'll have to take my hat off to Wozniak. Generally speaking, if someone owns stock in a company they would rather stab their own grandmother in the eye than give you an honest opinion about the companies's direction. He has my respect for being something other than a good stock holder/party member.
3rd party candidates and write-in (yes, I said write-ins) are constantly thrown out over stuff like this. I'd love to see a little role-reversal on this subject.
Looking at the CC notice at the bottom of the page (to Share -- to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work and to Remix -- to make derivative works), I don't see why you can't re-encode it in an open format and redistribute it so long as you give credit where credit is deserved.
But instead of limiting IT's efficiency role to the datacenter, companies will tap IT's vast knowledge of company networks, equipment, and work processes to uncover efficiencies across the organization, in some cases tipping facilities management into IT.
So what do the people we work for do again? Accounting? Nah, Background checks? I think we make soap. Yeah, tell the guy in the survey we make soap.
Since wireless on the Wii seems to work, is this supposed to be some kind of Snap server/router combo or is this one of those "ease" by way of giving the customer "choice" to increase "value" scenarios? If this is the latter, no thanks.
I get that the portal is just a decal, the part that bugs me is when you have a portal that can view another portal. How many portals do you draw before you decide to simply put a little orange or blue blob in the center/side/where ever. Also when you are in a large area and you fire two opposing portals at a far end whose textures haven't been loaded yet, how do you keep the game from crashing (I've had the big room towards the end slow down to a crawl but never actually crash)?
After all that went down in Georgia, I think it proves that there really isn't that much of a difference between the two.
Try committing a (non-violent) felony, the forfeited isn't always so temporary.
I hear Charleston Harbor is being turned into a giant TV-B-Gone.
"Monumental works can't be copied for the simple reason that they risk becoming caricatures," insisted Hatziefthimiou.
I thought becoming a copied caricature was the point. You know, so people say, "I want to see the real deal before I die"?
-Er "why should they", not "why they".

-er calling, not call and it is more like saying my car is a boat because it traveled across the ocean on a freighter.
Can you really call a rover a "spacecraft"? That is kind of like dipping my car in the ocean and call it a boat.
I couldn't agree more.
..and then they are forced to get back-alley firewire cards.
Woops, $749, so it is $250 more.
So it took 8 years to get a follow-up to 3Com's Audrey. At least it is a $100 bucks cheaper this time.
Tertiary-E?

Honestly, I think I've already seen that.

I was wondering the same thing. BTW, isn't circumventing the security on a voting machine constitute several federal felony offenses?
Sorry, by Snap I meant a setup free, network mounted drive. If I recall they are the company with a patent on such a device (could be wrong).
This still leaves me scratching my head. Outside of streaming all content, how exactly does this address the storage issue.

When Google gets in the business of coming up with their own standards, server and scripting languages I'll get back to you on that.

Because they know this guy in New Jersey.
I was wondering the same thing. Sadly, it really didn't go too far into that one, just the physics.
