However, on the whole, Star Trek was simply a rehash of half a dozen other genres, set aboard a Starship (e.g Wagon Train, Lost on Space, Doctor Who etc..). None of these series lasted anywhere near as long.
And Dr. Who lasted for 30 years, has had new Radio programmes posted *this* year, as well as a long series of Novels, and a recent TV Movie!!
