Perhaps "fiddling with gadgets" is low on the list because not many cars come with said gadgets as it is? Do you really want to test and see if letting people get MORE distracting stuff in their vehicle makes that percentage rise or not?
I'm fond of Euler's equation, but in my line of study (Computer engineering) However Ohm's law I see nearly every day in some form or other (Lab work or Network theory classes)
That entirely depends on the situation. 5000 troops in a fortification (hell entrenched atall) with automatic weapons vs a million of the slavering hordes and the only worry is running out of ammo. The entrenched troops will win.
He's right though. In charlotte right now it's chilly, but that's only because by some miracle the humidity isnt through the roof. I'm comfy to cold in long sleeves and cordoroy trousers
Back in highschool we had a couple converts from florida (in western NC) in band...out marching we would rejoice (we being the native NC'ers) when it got down in the low 70s because you could bust ass and not break a sweat...the two new kids were in ski jackets by then.
More accurately they're "clones", ie they are designed to be close to the AK-47 (or AKM or AKMS) design, but perhaps with modern improvements, synthetic stock and better made parts and so on. --like the IBM PC clones 10 years ago i suppose.
Most americans who are acually interested in such things do in fact know the difference between an AK-47, an AKMS and so forth.
Because most of the time it's easier/quicker to download (pirate) software one is familiar with than take the time to find and become familiar with a new piece of free software which may or may not be as good as the commercial one
And by the way, if I lived someplace where shooting a gun off allday in your backyard was legal, i'd probably be out there with my neighbor doing it whenver i had time (So, no i wouldn't mind)
You don't have to be there. Go to another airport or pick another method of travel.
And regardless even if you did have to be there, your opinion still doesn't matter, as you don't own the property, and you are one out of tens of thousands who go through the airport every day and don't have a problem with it
First: Is ANYone surprised that Real is mentioned as being first in line?
Second: Did it occur to them that the 18-34 male demographic is so hard to reach with traditional adverts because they go out of their way to avoid it?
I suppose that is true nowadays; when i set up my checking acount (years back) i had alot of incentive to do so at the state credit union over other banks due to lack of fees on checking and third party ATM usage. While their website works fine in Mozilla, I personally value saving a few bucks over having to fire up IE once in ablue moon and would stay with them anyway
Addendum: I rather doubt the bank has its own in house design team anyway. It's most likely subcontracted out and has nothing to do with internal security
It htrows a browser alert, and then lets you continue. Sometimes it logs in just fine, but alot of the javascript won't work properly. Then again, that site craps out on IE as well during heavy loads (registration season) and in general is a fairly shitty portal system.
I'm sorry but a browser holy war is not suffecient requirement to change one's bank. If your financial institution is so mediocre that you'd go somewhere else JUSt because its webpage is IE only, chances are you could/should find a better one anyway.
Ah..not the bug I was thinking about. The one I see is where the middle column (aka where the story and comments sit) is HUGE wide, and all the text is over off screen to the right

I'd guess the average person doesn't realize those surface vessels are nuclear powered simply because they never stopped and considered it.
I wasn't referring to a slow computer really, more along the lines of poor quality RAM and no name boards and drives and so on.
I can build a computer for 100 bucks. One problem though.
It's going to suck becuase it will be full of bottom of the barrel parts.

In your situation spam still wastes bandwidth. You may not pay for it but someone else does.

+1: Bashing my home state and I laughed anyway

OTOH they took the heat much better
BZZZT I'm sorry, there's no such thing as "world copyright" and especially not on a physical item (that would be patents youre thinking of)
Thank you for playing, but please do some research again next time.
Incidentially also there are plenty of eastern european and russian rip offs of western firearms as well, so I'd say things are even on that front

Funny, I don't remember anyone asking me in the airport, where I'm forced to wait, if I wanted to listen to the TV blasting.
You're missing the point. It's not your property, and you have no control over it, therefore your opinion doesn't matter.
Beautiful. I go tor ead this comment and the bug manifests.

Would you rather their budget go to pay coders to re write their entire web interface or do important things?

havea lnk to the bugzilla entry? I didn't know that was an actual bug (rather thought it was lousy HTML coding on /.'s part)
It happened to me exactly zero times. Sorry to dissapoint you.
